Getting Started With Luna Engine

Heya, all! My name's Adam and I'm a Year 13 A2 Student, just one year from University now.

I'm pretty experienced with RPG Maker VX Ace, so I decided as part of my compulsory "Extended Project" to be conducted throughout this upcoming year, I would create an RPG Maker video game. I've decided I want a HUD very similar to that of Persona 3/Persona 4.

I purchased royalty-free music from Enterbrain and Luna Engine too to make my own custom battle/overworld HUDs - however, even using Archeia's comic-based tutorial and reading all the documentation, I'm finding it very hard to know where to get started, i.e. what size parameters each window must be and the like.

Also, the base Luna Engine template .exe, not edited in any way, has this weird problem where the character's battle status stacks diagonally downwards in battle. I haven't touched it in any way, but it does that. A little weird and I don't know how to fix that.

Can anyone offer me any help? I've got deadlines to meet, so I ideally need to get to work on my project soon.

I think you mean Archeia not Arcadia. lol :p

Hi there! I definitely understand your confusion, I hope I can help you out somehow:

  1. Plan your UI! Start with something basic, make a mockup even if it's in paint, of your general menu. Think about additional features later!  Check out this thread for more info! 
  2. The Battle config exploded on the Version 1.04 update, but I'll definitely push 1.05 with the fixes ASAP. In the meantime, please follow these instructions.

Thanks for the help, Archeia! I suppose the best thing would be for me to simply experiment. 

By the way, I followed your instruction in the second link's threat to delete CP Menu Command. This fixed the weird icons on the menu, but the battler's status window still displays the diagonal stacking effect. Any tips there?

Thanks, that GitHub script did the trick! I should be able to start playing around with Luna Engine now. As for design, I'm essentially going for what was displayed back in your Luna Engine vid from 2013 (see below), a Persona 3/4-esque system but without the wheel. Just gotta figure that out, now! c:
