For this request, I would like a set of animated tiles that can be strung together to make what looks like a giant portal-vortex in the floor. Style should be VX Ace, with a good fantasy vibe going to it.

If possible, I would like them in at least one of the following colors:

Red

Yellow

Green

Purple(Definitely purple)

White

Maybe sort of like the rtp's demon wall texture, only animated and glowing and stuff :3

Thank you.

You may want to use a parallax background for the portal and then have it scroll. I think the RTP comes with some trippy looking backgrounds. Then surround the hole with event tiles that teleport you, or whatever you want the portal to do. The way to add it is to go to the map settings and select the background. Hope that helps!

There's only one parallax background that sort of fits, and it's still not really what i'm looking for.

Having a wtf bomb of colors isn''t really what i'm looking for. I'm looking for something like that tileset that was made, but in more of an autotile format. One that doesn't look ugly.

The reason you have those black blodges round the portals is because they are not lined up correctly on your tile sheet.  Why have you arranged them with those big gaps around them?

Ask themo

I used the tiles as is, without any modifications at all.

And that, I think, is your problem.  You have in fact not used them as they are made to be used.

I've just seen your post in themo's thread, and looking at it again, I think it's because you are using them as if they are ordinary B-E tiles, that you just put down in the same way as you would a floor tile or a chair.  However, I think that they are meant to be used as character sprites as they are animated.  In other words, you put it in the graphic of an event, select stepping animation, check direction fix.

Well, the thing is, I don't want one small portal. I want a giant vortex-like thing, as you may have been able to tell from the picture.

And also, that didn't animate at all.

I set them as events, stepping animation and direction fix. Nothing.

Have you tried re-sizing the graphic?

Right, looking at your tile set you have not correctly imported it as character sprites, so that will be why they are not animating.  I also wonder what file name you gave it.

You ask why re-sizing the graphic would change anything.  You want it bigger?  Trying making it bigger.

EDIT

I have just tested.  When imported correctly they are animated.

You keep talking about what name I gave it. What I did to it. I've done nothing to it. Do you mean adding a ! to the start of the file name? And you can only resize an image so much before it becomes blurred and pixelated beyond use.

EDIT: Yes I did manage to get in animated, but the graphic for the animation did not come up as 32x32, making it look even uglier.

No, I don't mean adding a ! to it.  I wondered if you had done that, that's all.  I resized it quickly so that each image did fill a 32x32, then adjusted contrast, brightness etc. to re-sharpen it.  Yes, it's not perfect - but then, it was done extremely quickly.  If you take your time to do it carefully it will be better.

If this doesn't work, you do have a couple of alternatives.  Make your own from scratch or pay someone to do it for you.

Marvelous, now I can't even set the picture for an event.

EDIT: Looks like this request is going to remain open, then.

Load the image in an editor, resize it, and then test some of the effects. Sometimes, you HAVE to do things yourself.

Tbh. Pugh, i'm just flat out starting to think that this isn't quite going to do.

I guess i'll just have to keep holding out for something different to crop up.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
