Is there a way to provide EXP to an ally that fell in that particular battle (ie: main character fell in battle and was unable to revive, but still receive EXP from the battle so he doesn't fall behind the rest of the cast later on because of it)? If not, looks like I'll have to request a plugin that let's me do that in Plugin Requests....

Use control variable in an event to calculate the difference between the exp values, then add that difference with the event command.
You'll need about ten control variable commands to load the exp values of both actors and calculate the difference with two variables - tedious but shouldn't be a problem.

That is a bit out of my skill level- I barely understood how to use variables in RPG Maker Fes...

Follow the link to the starting point in my signature and work through the tutorials linked there, especially the variables guide (that is a game to teach variables to the player).

You will not be able to do anything beyond basic "go there" quests without understanding variables.

In that case, could I suggest that you follow the link in Andar's signature to his info for new users? One of the things he includes is a playable tutorial on switches and variables. If you go through it carefully, you will have a solid foundation.

    EDIT

I mean, variables aren't exactly new to me- I've used them in Fes to create a time system and a high score system, but that is about it... You lost me when you said "calculate the difference between the exp values, then add that difference with the event command." Fes taught me variables were like switches, but with numbers rather than ON or OFF...

There is a part that is called "game data" in the control variable command that allows you to load almost all important game data numbers into variables, and another part with the basic math functions to calculate with those numbers.

Wait, checking the option to give XP to reserve members doesn't do this automatically? I thought that was the whole purpose of this option.

No, it only gives EXP to allies #5 and after if your party is larger than 4 people.

Actually, there's a very easy way to do it. Go to the state KO or whatever your knockout state is, and remove the feature EXP * 0%. Now, all KO'd people get the experience for that fight.

Though you may also want to make KO remove at end of battle if you do that. Else you will be able to carry around a bunch of KO'd people and they will keep getting EXP.

THAT'S THE FIX I WAS LOOKING FOR! I never mess with the States tab in fear of causing a game breaking bug, so I didn't think to check there. Now I can proceed with game balancing without worrying about a character falling behind the rest due to a single knockout.

(Main character fell in battle but leveled up, just like I wanted)

    Thanks to all.

@bgillisp DANGIT! I had the solution and everyone was making it more complicated than it should be!

You beat me to it! MANNNNNNN!!!!!

I was like, "this is easy! Just go to the Death state and remove the SP Parameter!".
