Hi, is there a way to give one event precedence over another? Here's an illustration...

I have two events overlapping on the same tile, they both trigger from "action button." One event shows an animation, the other event adds an item to your inventory. How do I get it so that when I click the action button, the first event triggers first, followed by the second, and not vice versa.

I have simplified the issue, so no need to comment on the setup :)

Here's a haiku for you all.

Where we put our trust

is only for us to know

we are free to err

The interpreter runs through events in order of ID, so make sure the first one has a lower ID than the second and it should work.

So you want the player to walk up to something, push a button to see an animation. Then have them push a button again to get an item. Is this right?

idk Why you would need two events rather than just two event pages.

Both pages start on button push, but the second only if Self Switch is on.

First page plays the animation and sets self switch. 2nd page gives the item.

Mako Star, Dymdez explained in the OP that the situation was simplified and that wasn't the actual implementation being asked about. P

Ok, I am going to test this now, if its that simple, then this is extremely helpful!

Edit: Indeed it is the solution, thanks !!!!!! :)

@Mako yes, you see, the actual system I developed is a fishing system. The first event shows the fishing animation, and the second event (the fish), will be added to the inventory, but only if its overlapping the first event (representing the edge of the water). I couldn't figure out how to do both with one event barring a super complicated event or a script.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
