Oh dang I thought I had found all of those, it's from stretching all the sprites. I'm sorry about that Cloud. Also I had been checking twitch, didn't mean to miss ya, I am sorry about that as well=(
The error has been fixed and the current game download does not have the issue. Whoops this was meant to be an edit of the last post did not mean to double.

HawkZombie has streamed some of the 1.9.7.1 version of Gladatora and it went pretty well. A good time was had and I came away with some important improvements that needed to be implemented. I have since updated to Version 1.9.7.2 and addressed everything that needed changing from the video, plus a few other improvements. In case you would like to see the amazing voice acting skills of Hawk while playing Gladatora I'll post them below.=) Please drop him a like or follow or whatever if you think about it, he is a great supporter of the RM community.

Drifty First Impression

The review is of the 1.5.1 Alpha update. Any issue found within the review, like the word bolster and the masked man fight, was remedied in the 1.6.0 update. The review shows just a small bit of what's in the game, it would take way to long to cover everything. But it's still a great Drifty to watch.

Hypnojo Gaming Playthrough

First video, in a play through series, Hypnojo will be uploading. He's a new Youtuber trying to make it so show him some love. Also, if any of you devs would like Hypnojo to do a game play or first look of your game just get in touch with him on his Discord or Twitter. He has informed me that he would love to do these for anyone here that has interest, so take advantage of that service.

Second video from Hypnojo's playthrough.

3rd Video in Hypnojo's playthrough.

This is the 4th Video in Hypnojo's playthrough. The support from you all has been amazing. I really hope you enjoy the new episode.

Video 5 has Hypnojo finding the long lost sister, among other things.

In the 6th installment of the play through, Hypnojo discovers the power of the Sagittarii.

In this, the 7th video, Hypnojo creates a special team build and tests it out. Things go rather well and I feel this video really helps to showcase some of the games possibilities.

Synopsis:
This is a game created in honor to the gladiators of old, in RPG Maker MV fashion. You will not be finding any magic in this game. Gladatora is a fictional city where the sport of the arena is booming, creating new opportunities for those willing to take it. While Gladatora is a fictional place, it exists within the real world of ancient Rome, and its surrounding lands.

You will guide a team of growing, once slaves, in their efforts to gain fame and fortune in the arena. All the while managing their own meager ludus and trying their hardest not to let Rome discover their true intentions and deadly secret. A secret made deadly by previous actions. Pushed to far this small band of slaves revolt against their Dominus and overthrow him and his allies. The group then finds themselves in a position to claim the ludus as their own, but is carving out this new life worth the great risk involved?

There are many different class types and unique bond arrangements. The combinations are endless which can offer many unique play though styles and experiences.

Triggand and his allies have the high hopes of turning their newly won ludus into a place where free folk can come and carve out their own destiny. And do so while not having to answer to a master but fighting for themselves, if they so choose. Beware, however, if Magistrate Brunnius takes notice of your criminal activities you will start to see growing punishment. Adversely, improving your good name will bring much fortune on your new journey.

Since the last update the game has gone through major overhauls involving the change over to a new Battle System and the repair of breaking pretty much every mapped tile from the sprite stretching in 1.9.6. Because of this there have been countless fixes, improvements and bits of new content that are not reported in this changelog. The process of dealing with all of this has been extremely time consuming and with the rework and extensive testing, the game has been altered in nearly every aspect.

I have worked very hard on this version and did not want to release it before it was ready. After much stressing I feel the game is finally ready to go and from here there will be 2 more updates, barring hot fixes, and then the official Beta release at Version 2.0. I am excited to finally be back on track and hope you enjoy the new experience.

Older Changelogs removed due to space constraints. These older patch notes can still be found in the Changelogs file in the Gladatora.zip.

Tips:
  • There are many different class types and unique bond arrangements. The combinations are endless which can offer many unique playthough styles and experiences.
  • Many battle types scale with your group level, but not all do. Using this you can have groups of stronger recruits and weaker recruits and still use them all effectively.
  • Levels are stored among Styles. Changing your style puts you at that styles current level rather than your previous level. Have your more powerful recruits switch styles to be at a level they can group with new recruits while being able to switch back to your upper level style at any time.
  • Having many similar level recruits can help you survive the more difficult battles by switching in new party members as needed.
  • There is a Basic Info section in the "Special" tab of your main menu. Most info you could need can be found there on the fly.
  • Save when you need to, auto saving occurs when you go in and out of the Ludus gates and certain other times. The first save slot is where auto saves go so save your games in the other slots.
  • The best way to heal in battle is from the back row, with Battle Dressings.
  • Switch out group members in battle or change equipment to get past enemy resistances or out live boss type mobs.
  • Every 100 fame, per actor you will receive increasing rewards see the Ludus for these.
  • Belts are found through the Fame random reward tiers.
  • Techniques are found on rare random spawn mobs or through task lines.
  • Only certain classes can use 2 handed weapon types.
  • Dog collars and guards are mainly crafted.
  • Higher tier items and gear become craftable as you raise the coinciding crafting styles levels.
  • Flax, Apples, Fish and Honeycombs respawn after varying amounts of game days.
  • The Ludus is your home base see the Doctori often and spend his Doctori Points, retrieve fame rewards, learn new skills, improve stats and more.
  • Rest in your bed within the upper Ludus if needed.
  • Ludus storage is available next to your bed.
  • Doctori only gains Doctori Points in daylight hours when he can be overseeing Ludus duties.
  • Arena boards are only available during daylight hours.
  • Use Missio battle command to escape battles if the opponent is too difficult.
  • Hard difficulty blocks escaping battles, among other things.
  • Most Style types must be unlocked by gaining job levels.
  • Damaged gear knocked off opponents can be repaired by a blacksmith.
  • Areas blocked off by the barrier graphic are not developed yet but will be in the future.
  • Keep weaker/ranged type characters in the back row for protection.
  • Tools for salvaging material are obtained through blacksmiths.
  • Rally Charge skill is very versatile, save charges for stronger foes or use it more often to keep the tides turned in your favor.

  • Errand Board labels are green when you can send a recruit, red when a recruit is on an errand and blue when a recruit is waiting to be picked up.
  • Bows require arrows, which are crafted from wood scraps and raw bits. Equip the arrow type you want to use in your Offhand slot.

Hmm, this does sound like a bug. Had you completed the the meeting scene with Trig and Starah? If so that is definitely a bug, very sorry if that's the case. It used to work hehe.

Just learned about this project last week, had been playing whole weekend after downloading the alpha and had fun.

I think I've encountered some errors. gd.jpgmiss1a_guard.jpg
There are a missing .png encountered doing main quest. When going to the southeast Roman camp, the game would be missing two pngs. (one is guard.png, another one is the general)

Side quest where alley beggar unlock graveyard door, going to the graveyard would start an event which misses !Door1.png. Think the png get [48x65] in the name so didn't get used.

After going back to the magistrate's event, the general's image would get stuck on the stairs. When next time visiting magistrate, the image would remain there.

edited: I found the right cypress tree, dumb me.
updated: I've encountered some other bugs.

If doing a new game+ and try to get to another new game (didn't get to kill the doctori on 2nd run, he's stuck at immortal state, not sure how to kill him), the game get stuck at here.
stuck.jpg

The general and The magistrate are there before soldiers appear.

The soldiers move correctly, Triggand turns around facing down then the scene stops functioning. Soldier still walk around randomly.

It's also possible to have tons of characters die out in permanent mode when the trainer is unslot. I had a lv22 trainer and several characters are lv.1~lv.6, when I unslot her several followers with full hp just died.

After the fetch boat service, it's missing an image.
Hypnojow.jpg

On 18th~19th day Primus, the board event is a parallel and keeps triggering on map just by entering the arena.

even if the project 1.9.8 alpha, the download leads to 1.9.7 as it isn't updated
or incorrect update?

On 18th~19th day Primus, the board event is a parallel and keeps triggering on map just by entering the arena.

Dang You found some good bugs there, A huge thanks from me. Although I'm sorry you had to experience those. A couple of them I'm not sure how I missed in my testing, looks like I need to test better lol. I'll get an update out for this stuff. =)

even if the project 1.9.8 alpha, the download leads to 1.9.7 as it isn't updated
or incorrect update?
Hmm, I'm not finding a reference to 1.9.7 anywhere. That version is gone though, the only version you can dl is the latest, 1.9.8 so where ever is showing 1.9.7 is wrong. There are some bugs needing to get fixed I should have done today though so expect a 1.9.8.1. Also a big thanks for pointing this out, I hope I can find the place it's wrong =)

as its in the link where I check mostly, but if that changed, the link isn't updated.
so maybe confused that way, will check it later once updated and get the time
to replay it again (been a while for it)

Thanks for that, I was able to find the issue. It's the way I would update the games link but should have always linked to the most current build. Now I know about this I can be sure to fix it as well. =)

Hi, I think I've played through most of contents. It's quite addictive and maps are very well done, I've logged over 40 hours in the save. :LZSyum:

Here are some other bugs I've encountered. (some quests I've trouble triggering so won't be able to test the contents there)

Forty's quest

In Vanustus's house, using the flower base event would miss Actor5.png

2nd quest for forty -
I believe some of the formulas in extra drops don't work which is related to one of the quest.

Tested and conditional item drop formulas that look like below would not drop the required item. (extra items and stealing items still work)

<Enemy Drops>
Item 134: 99%
</Enemy Drops>

<Conditional Item 134 Drop>
Always: +95%
</Conditional Item 134 Drop>

I put these on bandit's muffs, and even without using the requirement of switches, these don't drop the item, so won't be able to get the emerald ring.

If Forty joins, the task menu remains unfinished

Sum Ming appears in both Lares Poina inn and Gladatora if chose to save her.

After Corina joins, the recruit list is not updated and remains a puzzle. (I think the first time I asked her, there isn't enough bed)

If beds are full, going to prison and save Lark would make her disappear, likely missing a switch.

If apologize to her, she can be found in the inn. Recruiting her doesn't update the extra recruit image I think.

So it seems if beds are full the first time recruiting, the extra - recruits would not be unlocked.

Melody's quest is missing character image.

The graveyard thief gives a no named item.

Some quest items like ulak, the bow, or the smith fixing shovels would have text error.

Other than lighting glitches (like the plain lioness) and some objects that are through, haven't seen other bugs.

Things you can say about your RPG maker project, but not about your partner:
I’m so lucky! Simone got referred to a feline cardiologist and had I not called this morning the moment there was a cancellation the next opening would have been SEVEN months from now! The other heart hospital would have been on the other side of Michigan. Who knew that animal specialty appointments were also terrible to get!?
Scalemail project is one step closer to completion. Ordered scales from a local metalworking company, ordered some split rings... now all I need is to wait. :>
And pray that the split rings will be flexible enough to handle that.

Broke: Actually making the stuff you need to make before the game can progress.
Woke: Wasting time instead by making a sidequest where you can recruit an imaginary friend to the party.
