glitch where person cannot move?

I'm trying to make an underwater scene simply by adding tile to an otherwise water covered setting, and tinting it blue-ish. This is pretty much what the basic framework looks like.

The blue tint (which is not in the photo) is an autorun event. This is what the event looks like.

However, when I run the game, the character will not move and the tint does not appear. But when I leave the "underwater setting," the character can move and other tints I've set up run just fine.

I'm not sure if it's the event that won't let the character move, or if it's the tiles. Please help.

It's most likely the event, because autoruns always disable player input and you never switch the autorun off.

I suggest you work through some of the event tutorials to learn about triggers and switches, some of them are linked in my starting point tutorial in my signature.

you basicly have to either turn on a switch after the blue tinting happened, an create a new even page with that switch as condition
or temporary delete the event after tinting.

Autorun events always block other events from running themselves. Keep that in mind

Plus, note that autorun events run after the map is loaded. If you want the tint to already be there, use parallel process, and add an erase event to the end of the event. Then it runs once, and is erased until you load the map again.
