For those who haven't heard of it, every January a bunch of people in the game development community get together to participate in an event called the Global Game Jam. A general theme is announced on Friday, and teams from around the world have 48 hours to create a game based on that guideline. It's a really cool event that's growing a lot in popularity.

I participated the past 2 years and am planning to create something once again this year. In 2014 I made a game in Unity, last year I made a game in Unreal 4... I feel like this year it's time to show RPG Maker some love! I don't know exactly what I'm going to make yet, but I do know that I want to make it in MV.

Anyone else plan on participating? Will you be creating your game in RPG Maker? I figure this would be a good place for people to post their progress throughout the weekend.

To actually participate in the event, you're supposed to go to one of the local sites (yes, an actual physical site), of which the closest to me is about 100 miles away. However, they let you make a game using the theme that will be posted around 10PM Eastern tonight. (5PM Hawaii/Aleutian Time) Sounds like a neat thing to do some year.

Yeah, the idea is to go to a physical location and develop your game there. I've done that in the past, but since I don't have a laptop, that means lugging my giant desktop setup across town in the snow. So I decided to jam from home this year. My sister and I are going to collaborate and then interact with other jammers through Twitter/IRC. Not quite the full experience you get from being on-site, but it should be a lot of fun regardless!

That actually sounds like a pretty great concept. Ill have to read up on their official rules sometime and see if I can participate next year, time permitting.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
