Where is a good place to host and post examples and demos, I am having a big problem with steam right now it is not letting me update my workshop I can save the saves int he cloud but I can't update the workshop what is now ticking me off since RM only lets me upload to there be nice if they could offer me FTP options for my own server or user controls to login to the site and let us upload examples here.

EDIT:

Don't use that option for steam my game was working 100% until I tired using that not it just crash's I don't know how to fix it ever I lost about

3 hours of my work to others it might be 3 mins but to me was much longer :( not happy.

I use mediafire. No problems so far. Probably better than the steam workshop too because many of the DLC packs cannot be used (per the terms of use) if you are planning to upload the game there (and that is because the game cannot be encrypted, which is required to use some of the DLC packs and distribute your game).

Blanky is a open to all none RTP demo, all scripts and resources and DLC's would fall under this lic or it wouldn't be included, its a means for people to get started but steam is been ****, I also think its checking for a connection each time I save as I have a trial version that opens my project and save it fine but the steam version is locking up even on saving now I getting really miffed as I paid for this why should I have this limition on just using the bloody thing :(

I'm assuming by "examples" you mean screenshots. What I like to do is upload to imgur since it has good storage. I used to use the Imageshack Uploader as well, it's pretty fast, you can get a forum link for your images without even opening a browser. For demos I stick with dropbox or mediafire. One site that's actually very powerful (probably the revival of Megaupload) is simply called Mega, you can upload anything there, I'll probably start using it to host my own games.

From my experience the workshop on steam is really buggy. If you have one bad upload or connection issue, there goes the project as it then seems to have issues from there ever updating it. Maybe that is why all that is on the workshop is some music, pictures, and a few quickly put together projects, because in my experience, any project over 2 weeks old crashes when opened if it is on the steam cloud and/or workshop.

Not sure you know this but Mega is the new face of Megaupload it was there new brand and new face.

I not using drop box as it has a user download check after so much, I have it updated now on steam but its getting on my tit that is for sure, I might but it on mediafire later but when I just want to click and upload done this is why I using steam for one it is there and for two the workshop is there for all steam users that by the software without coming to the form and without installing anything as it will download it to the right place for them.

Ya steam is really not living up to its name with this bloody cloud and workshop, I will have to set up a new means of sharing it later but it offered me fast way to update and upload to the end user only reason I started Blanky was just for this fact it was easy for people to access on steam lol

Staff have made exceptions to Steam and audio in regards to DLC.

When using the DLC for anything outside of Steam, we're required at minimum to use the default encryption. It doesn't encrypt audio, though, by default, so any audio purchased in the store would be an exception.

When placing on the Steam workshop, at minimum you have to indicate the "play only" option, or whatever option it's called that allows people to play but not open the project. It's probably much worse than using the default encryption method, but it's considered at least better than nothing.

There was discussion awhile back here:

http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/35992-resource-pack-licensing-and-use/

Archeia's quote in regards why DLC is allowed in the workshop when the encryption methods are all but lacking:

Workshop handles files differently. You don't have direct access to the game's files and play it through a client. You can't even open it through the editor and just 'play it only.' That's why. It's obviously not fool proof but unless you're slightly computer savvy, it's easily taken. I know that the workshop is flawed as hell due to how RM is built though. And it also makes it hard as hell to redistribute resources without having to deal with bs with ReStaff materials.

I have to agree is not the best, when I get Blanky more usable I will release it on my own server but when I want to push a update steam looked like a OK option but clearly not.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
