Are there any good RPGs made in RPG Maker? All I've ever seen come out of it for good games are just weird games like Toilet in Wonderland or horror games like Ao Oni, but none of those are actually RPGs.

Please recommend me some good RPGs if any exist, I'm very interested if any exist that are made in RPG Maker 2003, and extremely interested if any exist that use mostly or only the original assets.

My game will be out pretty soon, it will have over 60 hours of gameplay and we use all original assets.
Here's the trailer:
That looks pretty cool! Though you misinterpreted what I meant by original assets, I don't mean original assets that you made yourself, I mean original assets of the engine, like nothing custom made.

The first RPG Maker game I ever played was really amazing. :kaoluv:
It's called Vampires Dawn. It has a lot of fans in Germany.
Initially, it was only available in German but it was translated some time ago, so you should be able to find an English version online.
There is VD 1 - Reign of blood, VD 2 - Ancient blood (both RPG Maker games), a mobile phone game called VD - Deceit of heretics, and some online game (never played that one tho...). And the best part: It's free.

The one who made those games, "Marlex", also published two books telling the events of VD 1 and VD 2.
He is currently working on VD 3. I am so excited :kaojoy:

There's already a thread for this, started just recently too. If you look through it you will find some that are recommended.

Personally I liked Tale of a Common Man and Echoes of Aetheria. Both you can buy on Steam.

Lakria Legends! It's a really solid RPG made in RM2k3, by KoopaKush. It won Game of the Year for 2017 over on RMN. (It also won Best Sound/Music for 2017, composed by yours truly huehue).

But yeah. It's full of life, clever puzzles and a good story!

If you interest in JRPG Style. I recommend
Nocturne : Rebirth ,a Japanese RMXP game having English Translation available in RMN.
Sacred Tear TRUE ,a Japanese RM2k3 game having English version selling in Steam.

Hylics, Space Funeral, Suits: A Business RPG and OFF are all solid turn based RPGs made in the engine.

The LISA series was fantastic . The first of the trilogy was created in 2003, though the latter two utilized VX.

Oh boy, if you don't like weird stuff, you may not like my game Earthquake Warriors RPG. That being said, it IS made in RPG Maker 2003 and uses RTP sounds and music, though most of the graphics are amateurish custom sprites.

There were two rm2k games that enthralled me and still resonate with me to this day, one a 6 part series that was finished, another an unfinished game that left us to this day 16 years later, hanging on a MASSIVE cliffhanger. However since they were both made during the Don Miguel era I shan't not name them here.

Edit: Oops, my bad, I should have read the initial post before commenting, I thought this was a reminiscence post, not a request post. Personally if you're actively looking for some good games I've heard wonderful reviews about a game called To The Moon. A good idea would be to go to the steam store, select the rpg category, select the rpgmaker subcategory and sort by highest to lowest positive review rate.

Eternal Senia and it is free on Steam. I'd highly recommend playing it.

Check out Nitro Rad, he has reviewed many RPG Maker RPGs, specifically, OFF, Lisa: The Painful, Suits: A Business RPG, Yume Nikki (Not an RPG but a great game). There are many others too.

Final Fantasy Endless Nova.

Created on RPG Maker 2000. It's pretty good. If you can find a complete version of the game. I cobbled together 3 separate downloads and assembled it myself using the program just to get a full version of the game. But, it was worth it.

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
