It's 4 A.M and I haven't slept in a couple of days so bear with me if this gets...disconcerting. I'll try to keep it succinct.

I've been here for a while and met a lot of very interesting individuals, learned some things, wasted a lot of time and played a bunch of free games. I've also used this site a little to much like social media (it's the closest to one that I touch) and been an rear end in a top hat at times though, and right now I need to take a walk to avoid more of that but likely on an accelerated level.

I don't want to elaborate really, except to make sure no one thinks any of this is coming from anything that occurred on site or anything. My world has been knocked off kilter and right now I'd be nothing but poison to this community. Beyond that I can't look at my game right now and know I won't have the time or the inspiration to touch it in the foreseeable future so there is really not any reason for me to stick around anyway.

Right, moving on; I just want to express my gratitude to this community as a whole, for it's support and general lack of the toxicity that plagues so much of the rest of the internet. This forum has an unbelievably broad range of ideas for how civil the discussions generally are. Even the few people I've had heated debates with for the most part I have nothing but respect for. I'll miss a lot of this community I'm sure.

I was going to give some personal gratitude here, but that's probably where this would get disconcerting plus I'd miss people but there are a lot of people here who've always really impressed me. People who, understanding the value of hard work over talent, constantly encourage others to keep at it and share their progress. People who answer simple and complex issues daily, and sometimes answer questions so technical that they no longer even apply to any of the programs offered here and yet happily provide paragraph after paragraph of information putting most tech support specialists to shame. People whose cult personalities inspire all kinds of varied and fascinating discussions and people who code and code for free until they get so brilliant at it that they make it a well-deserved job.

So much for succinct. People who make music and art, by request both grateful and boorish. and for the community at large. people who'll call others on their BS, and pull them back before they get banned. Those that have made it as indie devs, but devote some of their valuable time sharing their experience with amateurs and hobbyist. Others who always have a theory or a formula, who will tear apart and critique any mechanic until all of it's flaws and issues are in full view and offer advice on how to circumvent them and many many more.

This place is an unbelievable resource for anyone who wants to pursue game design, I've seen a lot of great games come out of here, and hope that keeps happening. Keep inspiring people's passions everyone, to much of gaming these days are soulless, streamlined machinations and I'm personally convinced that we're coming to a point where all the greats of the industry will start to fall one by one because so many are selling now on their name and former glory rather than the merits of their games themselves. Keep working hard and innovating, who knows when that void might grow or who might find an opportunity to fill it.

    Guess that's it. Farewell everyone.

Man, I can't really believe this. I, a debater, have seen a lot of your posts and you've told nothing but the truth. You're one of the best debaters on here and you always brought something new to the conversation. It's sad to see you have to go, but I know how it feels. I hope everything clears up with you, and when that happens, you're welcome to come back here.
