It takes awhile to get them ported because someone a long while ago encouraged me to edit all of my URL links into Topics in BBC code (thus making them suitable for one forum only) and translating them all back over is a royal pain...


Plus the spoiler/indent/color differences in the BBC codes makes it a pill, but yes, I'm happy to post them here once I get the lists all URL'ed up. =]

Also, I figured I would let you know that the TKool blog had a contest hosted on pixiv for RPG Maker DS a while back. There's some awesome robot / modern character sets that people made, it just requires a bit of digging.

I really like all those sci-fi themed sprites. I am a bit confused though as to who to credit. As far as I understand I credit those people you mentioned below each character set, but for which sprites do I credit you? All of them or just the ones where it's not mentioned whom to credit?

Uhm i can't seem to get the right giant mecha (Second last spoiler) saved.

Every time i try it says something about the format and it wont open.

How do i add this to rmvxa?

These larger files are 195 x 300 pixels. They have only one sprite in each file.


The horizontal dimensions are required to be evenly divisible by 3, and the vertical by four so that seems like it is working. Did you remember to rename the file with a dollar sign in front? $


Are you having trouble saving it (right click save as) or adding it once you have downloaded it?

I am not sure that the VX restrictions on supplemental stuff is all that clear, but honestly, anyone who is making a commercial game should be way past worrying about ponying up the 50 bucks (with the occasional discounts) for getting VX or ACE to cover all bases, and anyone who isn't going commercial is not really having too many problems I think.

Avadan's post says 

"If you like something, use it XD"

I don't think he is sweating the commercial/non-commercial details. Just don't repost or use without credit and I think you are okay. =]

Yeah this 'Commercial' contracts are a bit confusing... I copied to a text pad in with a folder to keep them all organized, but one of the sprite artists I found out a few months later had changed his mind and is now charging...I'm very confused on the legality of the whole issue. My game has been in development for over a year, I'd hate for something to backfire in my face, despite my every precaution.

I agree that changing terms are a big problem!

I have actually started making copies of the actual text of the terms sometimes.

I feel like if I received it under certain terms and conditions, then those conditions are what apply to me personally.

But I cannot "pass them on" to anyone else once they change or anything.

In fact, sometimes materials are put up with unclear terms, and later clarified, and I feel duty bound to honor the artis's intent even though the materials were released under clearly stated terms that weren't what they meant. (For example, some of the materials were created for an individual requester and therefor are only posted as examples, even though I have already downloaded the image when it was posted without limit. But really you gotta go along with it, although if I had not checked back I would never have known I suppose!)

I guess we should move this to a discussion thread if we chat  more about it. Thanks for your support!
