Hey, folks

I'm making a game, and I want to find a script that makes it so when you put on a piece of armor, it reflects the change on your character. However, I don't want to make a character graphic for every equipment combination. I've been looking at Victor Engine Visual Equip, but I have no idea how to use it, as I am new to scripts. If someone could tell me how to use VE, then that would be great. Otherwise, I would like a separate script.

Victor Engine Visual Equip can be found here

Thanks!

You just need to read the script header to see what to do. "How do I use it?" is an incredibly ambiguous question, and unless you actually read the comments in the script, give it a go, and post what exactly you're having trouble with, it would take a novel to explain it. You don't have to be a scripter - the instructions are all in the (non-script) header.

Ok, so I've read the header.

I don't understand the \ct function at all. Any help with this would be great.

Also, how should I go about making/getting the graphics for this? I can't seem to find any anywhere.

As he says in the script header, it's a more complicated one to understand. Do you have the others up and running?

You'll just have to search for resources. Since sprites DON'T change depending on equipment by default, you won't get anything in the RTP or resource packs that you can use. It's assumed that you will either find them, or create them, yourself.

Alright, thanks for your help.

I'm getting lost and confused here, so I'm just going to give up on it for now. Again, thanks for your help anyways

I don't imagine this would be something that's easy to implement. You would have to have, in addition to your normal character sprites, another sprite for every single piece of equipment you are going to give them. That's going to be a lot of work.

you would need an image for each item that you want to show on your character if you use those scripts

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
