Hello, I'm working on a project for MV and I need a customizable shop screen. I created a couple mock-ups to show the general idea of what I want it to look like, but, of course, I understand the final product may not look exactly like it! It was inspired by the feel of Persona 4 and Persona 3.

I wanted to have just two shops in the game, one for weapons/items/armor/accessories, and one to buy and sell non-useable items/gifts for romantic options. It would be great if it could also be compatible with Himeworks's Hidden Shop Goods plugin. (I don't know if that makes things harder or not...I just thought I should add that in just in case?)

This is the mock-up for the main shop screen, with a small centered text box or image at the bottom of the screen for dialogue. The background, sprite, and shop name can just be one solid image for ease of programming, but I think the choices would have to be separate images, for both the unselected and the selected options.

This is the buy scene for each options (i used items as an example). I don't think I need to really explain much here, The crosses on the top and bottom of the item box are the scroll down and up arrows. Reasonably, the up arrow shouldn't show up until the down arrow is used, and vice versa if there aren't enough items to warrant a down and up arrow.

This is the example for the buy/sell shop's main screen. Obviously, the buy and sell screens wouldn't be much different than the main shop's buy screens.

I really hope this isn't too drastic a request! I thought the mock-ups would help out a lot with explaining how I want everything to look. I'm really sorry if I'm bad at explaining things! If I wasn't clear on anything, or there's already a plugin like this but I just didn't see it, please let me know! The sprites were drawn by my bro, and are not the final images for this project. I will be doing all of the art for the project, but at the time, I didn't have any sprites to use but the ones he drew for the Visual Novel version of this game.

Thank you!

Sprites: Tokkinim

Splatter brush by: Unknown (they were bundled in a D&D homebrew tutorial zip file)

So you need the ability to overlay a menu onto a picture?

You could event this with minimal JS.

image events?

or, like, look for the graphic novel story menu script (or something like that), it lets you use a choice menu with pictures.

Um. That isn't really what I'm looking for. Or maybe we're just not on the same page...? I don't really see how using that would result in the shop menu I described in the first post.

by modifications?

Essentially you mod the script to move the buttons to where you want by changing X,Y values and then adding the image you want with an alpha channel.

Then overlay this on an image. Then event it...

The reason that I'm posting here, in plugin requests, is because I have no idea how to do it myself. I have little to no JS knowledge; I only know how to edit things very minimally. I would love to do it myself, or learn how, but your suggestion is going right over my head, because I don't have any knowledge in JS.

Okay, I understand. But the problem I see with your request is just that this request is very easy to do yourself but complicated enough that it requires some knowledge. I've explained basically what you need to do and This lands it in the void zone of "need a scripter D: ". Someone might help you out, but this stuff comes up consistently when your making a game. I'd suggest you run over to CodeAcademy or the like and learn up on the basics.

There's nothing wrong with this request. You can do some trivial parts of this with events but the actual shopping aspect requires more than just basic javascript knowledge, as well as special knowledge of how RPG Maker MV handles windows.

it is, but there is a line where you can't get anyone to help you because it is not worth it or easy subjectively to do yourself.

I can do it for him :/

@Baerthe There is nothing wrong with comicsans' request. While you may not feel it is worth your time to do, it doesn't mean that every coder feels the same. Some requests (whether plugin or resource or whatever) get filled and some don't. If this one doesn't get filled, then comicsans can look at other options whether that is learning more about the code to do it themself or hiring someone or what.
