Yeah.... Came up with a great, no AMAZING plot and gameplay ideas for a Pokémon game/ROM Hack.
Did a bit of research, and found Pokémon Essentials, but to my dismay it's only available for XP, not Ace.
I really want to make this game, but i don't want to dish out for XP when I already paid for VX Ace....
Should I start from scratch? Is there some way that an Essentials like package could be made for VX Ace?
Or can I "trade in" my VX Ace License in exchange for XP?
Help!!! I really want to make this game but I don't think I'd have the time or patience to start with NOTHING!!
EDIT: The Game: Basically it is just a normal Pokémon game. All the elements of the original series are there, trainers, gym leaders, elite four and the champion. My plot idea is fairly simple: Pokémon before Pokéballs. The player progresses through the game as similar to the main plot of the Pokémon games (Player gets a starter pokémon, trains and levels up their team as they collect 8 gym badges, challenges the elite four and finally the Champion, thus becoming the Champion themselves.) However, what makes my idea unique, is that this is all set during a time when Pokéballs were non-existent. Towards the middle of the game rumours start about the creation of a "device" for controlling and capturing pokémon, with the end result being the invention of the Pokéball.
What will be different with this game as opposed to normal Pokémon games:

- No pokéballs. Players "catch" pokémon through events which prove themselves worthy. (The pokémon chooses the trainer)
- No Pokécentres or Pokémarts. With trainers (which are called tamers in this game) being so rare, there is no infrastructure in place. Tamers instead have to find berries and home remedy's to heal their pokémon.
- No 'Types': As I got thinking, I realised that all of the knowledge of pokemon in the pokemon world is totally centred on being able to capture and analyse pokémon. Seeing as this is set during a time when people must befriend pokémon (Making tame pokémon extremely rare) pokémon are instead grouped by their body shape, basically the Egg Groups. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Egg_groups Gym leaders follow these groups, making the game much harder to predict and more challenging.
