To paraphrase a good book, the best introduction is always to say who you are. So... Call me Fermmoylle. Yes, double M, double L. Old nick used since modems cringed while trying to connect with an astounding 28.8kbps speed. Yes, I'm old. I look to all these kids around me and think they should get off of my lawn. On the top of it, I'm Brazilian, so forgive me my bad English. I do try my best to learn every day. My earliest RPG Maker experiences date back to RPGM95--as an user.--RM2K gave me my first attempt at creating a game (at the time, a groundbraking game using RTP only, one of the first games made in Portuguese, called "A última Dama do Fogo"--The Last Lady of Fire, in a rough translation.--the game was based on a novel I was writing at the time. And yes, I'm also a writer, with a few published titles under my real name--Marcelo Paschoalin). Then I just faded out in the lurking part of the net. I've browsed many RPG Maker forums, I've saw the rise of RM2K3, RMXP, VX, and ignored VX ACE and the newest kid. I liked to read about the systems, the scripts, the curious things creative people liked to do... A few nights ago, out of nowhere, I've found out RM2K3 was on Steam. Now, you must know I'm mostly a console gamer (nowadays I have a PS3, but I started on an old Atari 2600), and the only game I owned on Steam was Age of Mythology (for research and nostalgic purposes). And, after two days tinkering with the program, I've decided to purchase RPG Maker MV. Yes, just like that. So, here I am. A 36-years old Brazilian novelist who is thinking once again about creating a game. Maybe after all these years lurking (and writing dark fantasy books) I still have the mojo to develop something.

Heya, welcome to the forums.

I dare say that you have no reason to ever apologize for your "bad English". English itself is a silly contextual language and you're handling it better than a great number of native speakers.

While not as old as you (I'll be 32 eventually this year) I can appreciate the sentiment of looking around at a younger crowd and judging them for their foolish optimism.

I hope that RPG Maker MV serves as a wonderful medium that allows you the creative freedom to make a compelling game. Best of luck in any event and I hope that you'll stick around and participate within the forum.

Myself... I tend to stick to my comfort areas of this forum (Introduction/Farewells), Early Project Threads (and project recruitment), and the announcements sections. Once in a while I'll chime in with my 2 cents in general discussions or game mechanics.

Cheers!

My experience is highly related to writing (as a novelist, it's a must, you know?  ;) ). Spriting and scripting are usually far from my abilities. The games I create may not be groundbreaking works of art, but at least they should have fair writing.

I consider RPG Making as a way to tell an interactive story. In fact, I have a published Game Book (you know those who ask you to flip to another page if you want to do a particular action?), so I could even try my hand at a Visual Novel someday--the text is written, I'd just need to code it and find some graphics.

But I do agree all these kids on my lawn are a noisy bunch. ^_^ They keep talking about creating things while I try to find a way to even read the forum threads at work... And they really create things while I just look at an empty project with a pretty name! How bold are they!

Seriously, I tend to avoid project recruitment sections. At least until I have two games really made, I don't think it would be useful for me or anyone else having me on their team. Experience is a must.

Welcome to the group!

Not much older than me(32 now, 33 this summer), not sure whether my first console was the Atari 2600 or the NES, all I know is I had both when I was little, and still have the NES. //rmwforums.s3.amazonaws.com/emoticons/default_tongue.gif

Welcome!

It is wonderful you have already written and crested a few things already. I can't wait to see what you create with that experience under your belt.

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
