Howdy there, names Poato! (Intentionally mispelled, it's an inside joke, don't ask) I've been using RPG Maker for about a year or two now although I've only recently started using it in a way that could be considered good. I use MV quite a bit although I do also own VX Ace. So yeah, Introduction over!

It is a good idea even after you are comfortable with the program to keep a side-project going just to mess around with and try new things you think of, that way if you mess them up trying to figure them out you don't damage your main project.


The links from Andar's sig should help you get a better handle on the programs since it sounds like your skills are fairly rudimentary so far.
