RPG Maker Forums

Hello there fellow developers.  I figure since I cannot currently walk (that's the last time I walk down stairs while looking at flowers across the street) I should take the time to finally sign up and introduce myself.

Let's see, where to begin.. I'm an aspiring computer programmer, and while I have played a few RPGs, it's not enough for me to consider myself an expert or anything.  I do have some ideas for an RPG, though the first thing I came up with is the battle system and I don't really have a story or anything planned at the moment.

I won't go too much into detail about my idea ( I'll save that for the game project section instead of here) but the main goal is to create a game where a magic class feels like a magic class instead of just a way to target elemental weaknesses in enemies.

I hope we can get along, and I hope you guys don't get tired of me asking for advice, especially when it comes to scripting so I can bring my ideas to life.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
