Two brave children, Chiara and Simon, venture deep within a dense forest to find the tomb of a great and terrible necromancer. The world is not what it used to be; the dead have risen and wander the earth in search of live victims, and it is up to Chiara and Simon to put a halt to the necromancer’s evil plans! Play as Chiara, with her little brother in tow, and descend the vast catacombs beneath the necromancer’s tomb and find a way to finally end his terrible reign!

However, there is more to this operation than meets the eye. As Chiara descends the catacombs, she begins to encounter more than just the living dead... It seems something even bigger may be at play here...

Grimoire is a fantasy dungeon-crawler. Gameplay consists of fast paced, on-map encounters as the player progresses through a dungeon-like catacomb. Wielding a magic lampshade, the player is able to deal with the likes of the necromancer's ghosts and zombies. All encounters are fought on-map using a fully custom light-based combat system. Shine your light on ghosts to damage them, then charge at them to finish them off. Zombies however, require a trap to be set - be careful though; while your trap is set you'll be helpless to the ghosts!

Grimoire v0.5 Updates

Quite a few bug fixes as well as some improvements people have suggested:

Ghosts emit light when hurt
One complaint was that the screen became too dark when concentrating the player's light. In order to compensate for this, I added a feature where after a ghost has been hit by the light it will emit a glow for a few seconds. I also added a small radius of visibility around the player whilst the light is concentrated.

Tips on the gameover screen
There was apparently some ambiguity in the player's abilities, which will hopefully be cleared up with this addition. Controls are also explained a little better in-game. The tip changes depending on how the player died.

Player can now walk up stairs
Pretty self-explanatory. Player can now back-track to previous floors. Serves no specific purpose besides maintaining immersion.

Screen doesn't get so dark when taking damage
Originally the screen tended towards black as your health decreased, but now it only tends towards about 50% blackness until you're dead.

New Challenger has arrived for battle... the Ybox 63 X... The upper body is just basically a Sega Saturn controller, for anyone who remembers what that looks like lol. You'll fight these at the local high school area.
I'm getting better at sleeptyping. Yesterday I typed something that didn't make sense at all contextually, but was a valid without any grammar errors (and almost no spelling ones).
Maybe it's time for a new avatar.
I was trying to learn to play 2 songs on my acoustic guitar. The Bard's Song (Blind Guardian) and Aerith's Theme (the godly master composer who needn't be named). I was learning them 'by ear'.

Well today, only a week after not picking up my guitar. I can't even remember the first few notes to either. So I guess I'll need to learn to write sheet music alongside javascript :\

Feline Rescue.

Hope everyone is well. Lost power for about 12hours and dumped fridge and freezer items but restocked today.
