This is my first project for RPG Maker MV

Background

World constantly in the stat of chaos, many people fight to survive. Elder God believe that there are no evil people or good people only confuse people that need guidance. Angel is the solution of this problem, they have duty to guide the human to reach their potential and become better person. Their task isn't easy because even Angel can also become consumed with evil and become fallen angel. Every human have one Angel that guide him/her the personality of the angel can influence the human or otherwise.

Guardian Recruit is a RPG game about the journey of new Angel doing their job as a Guardian. Guardian job is to guide human to do the right thing, the angel can't show his/her physical appearance (angel form) to the human, so they need to use other trick like :

  1. Showing a sign in form of manipulate things like table, light, ignite stuff, etc
  2. transforming (become human or animal)
  3. reward with good luck or bad luck (can be money, item, weapon, increase stat)
  4. ???

Character

  1. Angel 1:He is adventurous type love doing new things, but quickly get bored if it's not like what he expected
  2. Angel 2:He is cheerful type and he is the youngest of the 4 angels
  3. Angel 3:The only female member of the team. She is very serious person
  4. Angel 4:He is pessimistic and cautious type, always analyze things if it worth the risk or not

The human that angel guide will have their own story and problem, sometimes another character will meet each other. Angel in the human world is invisible they can't see another angel and only see the human. In rare case if another angel view this human as a threat they will try to give the human an obstacle or problem, their angel will fightback without knowing who did this.

Feature

  1. Relationship system (between human and human, angel and angel)
  2. day and night system (if it possible without plugin or script)
  3. Random event (influencing character moral :good or bad)
  4. SBS system for fight
  5. Hunt Quest
  6. Crafting System
  7. No grinding
  8. A lot of choice

So i decided to use the basic material of RPG Maker MV (tileset, sound, music sprite etc..) , but i'm a bit scared if my game look ugly compared to the other game in here. Also i mainly use event absolutely no plugin and script (because i'm suck at it). I use the basic material because this is my first game, i want to keep it simple.

I have some question and hope someone willing to answer it:

1. is it possible doing all of that things only with event?

2. how to make actor as enemy in battle screen?

3. in battle you will see the angel and the human but how to make the angel not targeted by the enemy? (because he/she is invisible to earth creature)

screenshot to be added in the future, and my game still on very early stages so don't expecting demo :p

thank you so much I wait for your feedback!

Hello @deathez !!

I'm sorry I won't be quite able to answer your RPG-Maker related questions ( since I'm far from being an expert haha ) but I can actually give you some advice for your game : first, you should not worry about using the basic materials to start, as long as you have a good story, I remember an excellent RPG game called "The Crooked Man" who almost used only basic materials ( or resources he found on the Internet )!!

The background story is quite interesting, though a little generic, you should keep working on it, adding details to make it really yours! Try developping a little more your characters, give them a background too perhaps ( though you still have time since you're still in an early stage of the development )

Finally, I'm sorry if I'm going to sound rude but I'm really not trying to be... Try to improve your english! There are many grammatical errors that will make the player not want to play your game! If you are, much like me, not a professional english speaker, try to first create your game in your mother language, then translate it and ask others to help you translate it!! Really sorry if I sounded rude but I don't want people to not approach your game just because of bad grammar...

I can't wait for the final product though!!^^

@mi2 thank you so much for your reply!!!

i'm really appreciate your opinion about my grammar. I'm aware that i can't construct a good sentences, and that's is often a problem because i'm too scared to write. I will try hard to improve my grammar by the way, because i'm try to be English teacher in my country haha.

About using basic material, i'm changed my mind and maybe using some material i found in internet or this forum to make my game look more beautiful. My background story and game concept changed a bit by the way, as I progress mapping my game. I maybe didn't know how my final story, until i finish this game. Do you think that's a good idea? (not know the story of your game)

@deathez it's actually a pretty good idea to improve your story while making the game. For example, I know games that started only as a test, a little project, something that was not supposed to be meaningful or an actual game, but as the creators continued to work on it and fleshing it out, they turned out in excellent games!

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
