 Hi, guys.

I'm trying to illustrate my own tilesets from scratch. I'm just wondering if a best practises guide exists for this. I'm sure it would save me and a lot of other people some experimentation time. lol

Thanks so much in advance for any help on this.

I would also appreciate this, as every time I try to use my cutom tile, it does not display properly. I'm using inkscape to create the image, page set to 384x768, image set to 48x96- as I would like my bookcase to cover 2 tiles in RPG Maker mv. File saved as .png, loads in RPG Maker mv's tileset tabs but only displays image over 1 tile & only a random (seeming) corner of my bookcase...I've tried researching this elsewhere & have found very little material pertaining to "RPG Maker mv" specifically. Any help would greatly be appreciated, I can also share screen shots of what happens. Plz help, as I'm new to these programs & am getting stuck on this, as I want more diversity in the tile selection.

Gow2009 please don't hijack someone else's topic about this, create your own topic if you have an issue with your tiles.

There aren't a lot of guides out there, but there's a few scattered tutorials. Lunarea's got a few in the tutorial section. I've got a few as well.

What specifically do you want to learn though?

Yes, there are guides - for example in the official tutorials linked under support top right and in the blog, and the file specifications are listed in the help file of the editor.

I'm srry, I had no intention of "hijacking" at all. I'm quite new to this, & thought our questions to be along the same line. Apologies.

No they aren't - in a lot of cases what might look the same to a user (especially a new user) can have different causes and behaviours, and mixing that info up will only confuse everyone.

I'm pretty sure I know where you made your mistake (it's also a beginners mistake and indicates you didn't read the help file about assets), but please make a new topic for that answer.

Hey, I don't have a problem with the hijacking... I'm totally cool with this being a general tileset thread. :) Really I had my question answered here for the most part... http://pinkfirefly.deviantart.com/art/Easy-Tile-Making-Autotiles-541896461

But I should use the already existing tileset files as templates right? I have to have my drawings fit the grid exactly because there is a specific "slot" and dedicated texture sheet for tileset animation, and other ones are for other purposes... So I can't break the standard currently set and expect the engine to know what I want.

Thanx for understanding trembling light, I appreciate it, as I meant no offense to anyone. I will read the help file on "assets" Andar, I thank you for the suggestion. I currently have my tile working, however, only the "bottom" of my image (spread over 2 48x48 squares, so image is 48x96) shows correctly, the top 48x48 square is only showing as "transparent" even tho I have removed all alpha layers. I can make a new thread to discuss this, if necessary.

Aha! Got it! Just had to open one of RPG makers tileset in gimp, cut out 2 48x48 squares (48x96) and paste my image into empty spot. Save & export, load in RPG Maker mv & voila!!! Very pleased with myself! :)

gow2099, you have already been told NOT to hijack other topics with your comments - we want one problem per topic to keep the forum searchable.

And since the original question was answered, closin gthis

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
