RMMV Guild owner who have to pass missions to companions

so, anyone ever played xcom 2 war of the chosen? well I have. And one of the things that I absolutely love to do is go to a certain room( don't remember the name) and make my characters go on quests alone without my intervention, in the meantime I would go to another place do whatever I want!


I'm thinking on making a project where this happens and my character is actualy the leader of a guild and there's plenty of secondary characters that I want to implement and while Im using the main team I would send the remaining group on another mission or in multiple missions individualy, in the end of that certain mission they would receive a certain ammount of EXP.

Don't know if it is the right place to put this, if it isn't plz move it!:kaosigh:

I definitely think this is the right place, and I like your idea, although it requires you to write a system capable of handling those missions. You mentioned XCOM so am I right if I assume that you need some sort of timed system to do that? If that's the case you have to write it either using a common event or writing the code itself.

I wrote a tutorial to explains how to efficiently create a complex timed system using events (no external script required other than a few simple script calls). It is meant for VX Ace, but the general contents are the same for MV, the only difference is how you handle arrays (which can be found here or in the MV Script Call board). The tutorial can be found here or following the link in my signature.

Let me know if you find this useful for the system you want to implement. Of course, this does not cover the whole system, there are other things that you have to implement such as how to assign a mission and how to handle rewards, but it should give you an idea of the general structure.

hmmm, I imagined that. the problem would be that I don't know how to write codes...:rswt2:

@Breno Gregory The tutorial provides you the theoretical basis that you need to understand how to work with arrays to create such a system. Even if you are not knowledgeable with JavaScript, you can take a look at the MV Script Call List and see how certain event commands can be used to create arrays.

There is one, in particular, that does exactly what you need. Just give it a go and try to understand it. Of course, it is not meant for complete beginners so I strongly recommend going for beginner tutorials if you have troubles with variables in general and other basic concepts. However, once you acquired the required knowledge, it will definitely help you with what you want to do.

There is a link to Andar's tutorial in my signature. Once again, it is meant for VX Ace, but since the Event Commands are basically the same, it works for MV. I do not remember if the parts that work for MV are marked as such or not, but basically anything that does not involve parallax mapping and scripts works for MV. If you keep that in mind, I doubt you can find better tutorials for beginners around, it has almost everything you need to know.
