Hi there, everyone. I'm a bit nervous to post here for the first time but I want to introduce myself and give a brief little summary of what I'm working on.

My name is Ian, I'm 26 and I'm a digital artist and videogame lover who finally decided to branch out and work on my dream of making a game myself. I've loved pc games ever since I was a kid, specifically point and clicks and rpgs. I also love horror and mystery, both of which I plan on including in my game.

Speaking of my game, it's kinda untitled for now but I'm calling it fruitiversity. It's quite literally just an amalgamation of things I stated above. A mystery-horror-point and click-rpg centered around fruit people. I know, I know, but I really think I've got a good idea here. (I've got some screenshots I'm eager to share but I'm not exactly sure where to post yet)

I'm at the stage where I'm drawing maps and items for the engine, so this is definitely more than an idea but I've got a long way to go. I'm still learning the specifics of rpgmaker and coding and It feels like an uphill battle but I'm determined to keep trying.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you all are working on as well! I don't really know anyone else who's developing a game. I'd love to find a place here among everyone and meet other people who are working on similar things, maybe even make some friends.

Hi, Ian, and welcome to the forums! You're in good company as there are plenty of mystery and horror fans here. I'm curious what you come up with down the road, especially since you are drawing your own graphics.

As for coding, you don't even have to worry about that if you don't want. It's not required for RPG Maker. At least not for the end user. Plus, there are a ton of plugins available.

If you're having trouble dipping into the engine itself, there are several tutorials on YouTube. SRDude, Driftwood Gaming, and Echo607 have good stuff.

One more thing...you now have us so don't be a stranger. :)

EDIT: I forgot to say what I'm working on but it's a game for a friend. I'm not sure anyone will be interested once published, since it's just a bunch of inside humor, but I'm having a lot of fun with it!

Thank you so much for all of the kind words and advice! Thank you for the resources, too. I love that you 're making a game that you're having fun with! That's the most important part.
I definitely won't be a stranger, especially with such nice people here!
Hopefully I can make something that people enjoy. Either way, thank you for the warm welcome!

Welcome and have fun... And since most of us here are a bit fruity or plain basket cases I think your game will fit right in xD

I'm listening to iiluminaughtii talking about the secrets behind shady businesses and scams. Meanwhile I'm writing a fanfic about Sephiroth from FF7, one specifically for my stepmom. I'll get to give it to her, too, because my boss said I could take the holidays off! Dec. 22-27 I will be in Orlando, and maybe Fort Myers too, visiting my dad and stepmom!
Of course, I bought a handful of games on the Steam Black Friday sale. Will I try them? Will I complete any? Who knows...
I don't really have any neat updates today about how I screwed up programming... But if you want to observe the intensenes of me programming, then you can check out my stream :)

No more spam from me today, I promise! Just wanted to upload this, people have been giving me feedback that my weapon sprites (which were RTP) clashed badly with my battlers for ages, so today I finally took the plunge and updated them! Really happy with how they came out :D :D
So Facebook fraudulently took money from me. They even went through my PayPal accounts to find a card that had the money on it. Thinking about deleting my Facebook account because this doesn't happen on twitter, not even close.
