Halloween is fast approaching. Its supposed to be a fun and safe holiday for all, though mostly children. If your a parent like myself and you have your own children going out trick or treating, make sure they are going with a group of trusted friends. If not, you really need to accompany them! If you are a kid reading this, and not going out with your friends on this holiday, bring a parent or trusted adult. It only takes a few moments to make you wish the rest of your life what if you had done things differently?

I'll be accompanying my children this year on their endeavors, even though they will be with friends, and both of them actually want it this way. Reason for this, several bad things that happened this year, one of them almost involved losing my daughter.

Seven months ago, went to have a cigarette (Yes, I know its a bad habit, a deadly one at that, but for once it saved a life) I happened to be learning against a fence watching my daughter using her new skating shoes. My neighborhood has been pretty safe, or so I thought. She was only 6 feet in front of me. I have drilled her since she could walk on street smarts. But not even what you can teach your kids, could have prepared them   for what took place. It was so fast. Had I not been there, most likely would never have seen my daughter again!

She was skating up and down the sidewalk when a car came up from behind her, one guy driving, another in the passenger seat. The car has no plates. I don't know what set off the bells in my head, but I ran and yelled at the same time. My daughter turned around and ran toward me as the car stopped and a man stepped out and tried to grab her. He didn't see I was there and panicked and quickly got back in his car as the driver took off. I have no clue what the heck I picked up, but managed to throw it and smash their rear window. These two guys were never caught. There were two similar  situations this year as well where they were caught.

If the above isn't enough of convincing, I'll fill you in on a story of when I was a child. When I say trusted family member, I mean trusted. In 1972 I was at my best friends birthday party. I didn't know at the time till years later who the clown was doing tricks at her party. But after the party ended, my mom was a bit late to pick me up. The clown offered to take me home. I was already drilled on the dos and don'ts. I have never been afraid of clowns, but something about this one, just scared the heck outa me and even my friends mother said no, even though she was extremely busy, she would have taken me home before she let even trusted friends drive someone's kid home. It was a good thing too, because 6 years later both of my parents were in a frenzy, along with neighbors after the news come on that one dreadful night. That clown turned out to be one of the biggest child serial killers known to this day, John Wayne Gacy. 32 children were buried under his home.

I'm not saying give Halloween and trick or treating up. I'm just trying to show you why this fun holiday needs to be celebrated safely. These two incidents didn't happen on Halloween. But its this holiday when those crazy people get a huge chance, and every year you hear about it. I hope no one ever has to go through life wishing they had done things differently.

Have a Happy and Safe Halloween!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
