When I was about 12 or 13 years old, I remember the NES game called Crystalis. Me and my brother played that game religiously, but we never seemed to have enough time to get very far between school and other activities. I remember one day it snowed pretty heavily, and school was cancelled. We woke up early in the morning (5 or 6 am, I think) and played it non-stop throughout the whole day, using our copies of Nintendo Power to get through some of the harder-to-guess areas, and we ended up beating the game that weekend. Not only was it one of the best action rpg games of the NES, but it was quite a bonding moment for me and my brother, and we were both ecstatic over finishing the game. It was also the first game we played to portray people dying, and that in itself was sort of an iconic moment for us. Now it's quite common to see death and profanity in a game, but back then... not so much.
There is so much talent here, it's really hard to pinpoint the top three. However, if I had to choose, it would be a toss up between DS+ Pack, the Zombie Survival Graphic Pack, and Tyler Warren's RPG Battlers. Some amazing talent went into producing these packs.
I would like to take a moment to thank everybody on this site (both staff and members alike). Without this site and the support of Degica, RPG Maker would probably still be stuck in the ways of one-off community sites and hobbyist appeal. This site has forced some of the other communities to also step up their game in friendly competition, and that has made RPG Maker products stand out much more in a versatile crowd. We'd still be limited to download copies, Steam would likely not be on anybody's minds, and we wouldn't have the store we have now where quality-made resources could be purchased. While I'm only a hobbyist myself, RM is like a puzzle for me, where each new purchase completes my collection and allows me to delve further into the world of game making. And who knows? Maybe one day I can step out of the realm of being a hobbyist, and become something more. At the very least, it allows me to play tons of free games I would have never imagined possible.
So again, thanks to everybody for making both the product and this site a success.
