Having A Monster Transform When Another Monster Dies

The idea is during the boss fight, as you kill the monster they are absorbed by another one.
But also that if you hit a monster to a certain percentage of health, have them become immortal and absorb a certain monster.

Monster A dies and Monster B absorbs it and becomes Monster B+.
Monster B gets so low it almost dies but becomes immortal long enough to absorb Monster A. Monster A is removed from battle and Monster B becomes Monster B+.

You need to use Events on the Troops (Database).

You set the conditions (Monster A HP < X, etc) then you set the Events parameters, etc.

I'm fairly new to RPG Maker so I don't really know how to do that.

That's exactly how it works. The event you set will happen only in that enemy group you created.

You know how to access the Database, then configure enemy troops?

Yes. I've also been trying to figure out how to have dialogue in the middle of a battle.

Could you explain the steps all at once please?

In each troop, there's their respective Events page where you create the Events for that particular troop.

Create Events for battle is not so different from Map Events, but for then to happen, they need to have a condition set (in the example, the enemy Playboy HP must be 0, otherwise, this event will never happen).


I will post a detailed explanation on how to do that transformation you asked tomorrow (it's over midnight here now, and I have to wake early tomorrow :biggrin: ).

But it's not that hard to do what you want.

Basically… You have to create four enemies, A, B, A+ and B+. A+ and B+ will be invisible and only will appear when the conditions are meet (A's HP is lower than X%, etc). Then, to make things more fancy, you play a battle animation before the transformation and voilà.

As a note on this, It'll be a four monster battle where one monster keeps absorbing the others.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
