Greetings!
This is a very belated introduction on my part. I started an account MONTHS ago, but with work, school, taking on new ventures and relationship drama, I've been quite busy. Anyhow, Hello, all! I'm Misterblack, or James in the real world. I've been making games for 12 years now (I can't believe it's been that long. Yikes! I'm getting old!) on various engines and programs. RPG Maker will always be my favorite. I think VX Ace is an amazing program. I have yet to actually make a game with RPG Maker VX ace.I've had experience with RPG Maker for the consoles, and I had purchased RPG Maker XP back in the day (loved it), and as a birthday present last year, a friend of mine surprised me with a copy of VX Ace, and it's THE BEST present I think I have ever received. I'm rambling. Sorry! I'm known to do that from time to time. I'm very curious to see what you all create with these amazing programs, and I hope one day for one of my projects to be up here! Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
