RPG Maker Forums
Hello folks.
I'm a new user here, but I've been playing around with RPG Maker for many years, but never really got into posting in forums, etc. I started with RM2k way back, and have recently purchased RPG Maker VX Ace via the Humble Bundle store. I've been experimenting with it for a week or two now, and I have to say, it's a great maker. I've noticed a high learning curve with using scripts, but I've been able to figure a fair amount of them out through experimentation, and I have to say, they really up the power of what one can do when compared to what was in 2k and 2k3.
I don't know how often I'll be posting, but I figured I'd introduce myself so it's not a complete mystery about who I am.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
