Hello creative types

Hi,

Just joined the forums here, you can call me Sean (my parents did and it stuck).  I'm new to RPG Maker and will probably have a few thousand questions later.  Right now I'm using the Lite version of VX Ace to learn and explore with.   I'm working my way through a few tutorials creating a simple game and so far I'm really enjoying it.  I just discovered today it is possible to use higher resolution graphics and I'm very excited about that (since that's the kind of graphics I'm used to creating). 

Yes I am a graphic artist and eventually I hope to create my own tile sets and sprites for RPG Maker.  I haven't done any programming in a looooooooooong time so for now I'm focusing on learning the scripting language used and what can be done with it.  Would like to say a quick thanks to anyone who has shared tutorials on the scripting language, will be saving me a lot of hair pulling in the future!  LOL

That's about it for now.  Lot of stuff in the forums to read and catch up on before I post any questions.  I plan to buy the full version of VX Ace soon and then dive into a few simple demo games.

Also a writer and a poet, I kind of took that whole "creativity" thing and ran with it.  What sort of art are you interested in?   These days I'm mostly doing 3D models and graphics but lately I've been focusing on line art and in particular some comic styles.  I started learning those styles for doing concept art for 3D projects but am finding there are a lot of uses for it from book illustrations to game art.

Lil update, just got the full RPG VX Ace today!  Happy happy joy joy.  So I'll be starting my first full project as practice... The Legend of Bork (yeah, dug real deep for that idea didn't I?  lol)  Not sure what all I'll include, I know I still have a lot to learn about setting up Common Events and balancing encounters, so its mostly going to be just a practice tutorial.  But hopefully it'll be something I can release eventually as a first basic game.

Oh an any advice on tutorials on scripting, expansion packs, etc.  Feel free to drop me a line, I'll take all the free advice I can get.
