hello guys!

Did some exploring getting to know this website a bit better and I”m loving this so far :)

I’m from Amsterdam and love to draw anime, composing game music and ofcourse develop games with the rm engine as a hobby. I’m new to RMMV but looking forward to get the hang of it.

Greets!!!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

As you're new to MV, I think one of the best things you can do to get up to speed really fast is to go through Andar's compilation of info for new users. In particular he links to 2 playable tutorials, one for the Events Command Menu and the other for Switches and Variables. Most people find interactive tutorials a much more efficient and enjoyable way of learning than just watching/reading. Get those 2 under your belt and you've got a solid foundationof 2 essential aspects of game making. Spending a bit of time doing those and the rest of his compilation and you will save yourself a huge amount of time and frustration in the long run. It will make game making so much more enjoyable - and that's always a plus.

Welcome to the community!

As Kes says, following through with Andars tutorials would be a great place to start!

You can also search the forum for specific terms and key phrases at the top right if you get stuck with anything in particular, or post a question in the relevant section of the site and you should find people are quite helpful :)

Best of luck in your new projects

Hi again and thanks for the quick reply and link. Really helped out a lot. I mainly used XP back then but MV is totally different. Definitely gonna play around with it! :)

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
