Hello,
I've been admiring RPG Maker for many years. I decided to put forth some effort, start reading up on material, and move forward, from square one. All along the way, there are constant messages and tags saying how active and helpful the community is, so it seemed like a no brainer to sign up and dive in.
From a couple posts, there were strong recommendations to follow along with a tutorial, building the game identically. Is this the general consensus? I don't have an interest in making commercial games, it's specifically intended for a family member who is (to make it brief) socially withdrawn. She is the reason, growing up, I played fun RPG's like Lunar, Lufia, Zelda's, and countless others, helping 10 yr old me grind out levels. She was always a great mom. Anyways, I'd love to be able to give her a custom gift (or gift mini series
if I can wrap my head around it.) I'd assume, over the next years. I would think (and have read) that this is a labor of love, but still labor in it's own right.
Ha, first day around, and I'm already rambling.
Thanks,
LeviK52
