Hello there, my name is Misty. I always dreamed to tell my stories, and finally I feel able to do so. However...I am still very new to this, and have little to no talent in making sprites.

I started dipping my feet into RPG Maker MV thanks to the 30 day Trial, and even though I never used a program like this at all, I already feel very comfortable with it and feel I can get my story through with this. So I hope to be able to tell my story in the near future to all who wish to hear it.

This is very new to me, and I am still confused with many of it, like how to make animals the main actors and such, but I hope to learn everything I can in due time.

I grew up with RPGs, and just gaming in general, from even before I was born thanks to my mother playing Final Fantasy. I remember sitting on her lap and falling asleep to her grinding or exploring, and always enjoyed the story in most of the games I have played.
Once I learned basic reading, I started playing games on my own, like Pokemon, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Sonic the Hedgehog, Kirby, ext. but always had this journey of my own building in the back of my head.
I want to thank Twilight Princess for pushing the trigger on my idea pushing its way into front and center, as well as, funny enough, a villain from another series completely. The idea has since changed over and over and over again, and still is changing very slightly today. (Characters being fused together, plot points being removed or moved to something else, ext).

Other things that are actually fueling my ideas are novels and, sometimes, movies. Warriors (by Erin Hunter) and Wings of Fire (by Tui T. Sutherland) is the main things that got my ideas spinning. Animals being the main focus, spiritual and mythical backgrounds and such, it just drew my ideas out of the water.

I finally feel it is the time to start getting my characters out of my head and take the journey that I always dreamed of them having. To get my story out there, for everyone to enjoy.

Thank-you everyone for reading, and I hope you all have an amazing day.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

As you are just starting out with RPGMaker, could I suggest you have a look at Andar's compilation of info for new users. In particular he links to 2 playable tutorials, one on the Event Command Menu and one on Switches and Variables. These are 2 essential components in making a decent game. Being interactive, most people learn more, and more quickly, than just watching a video tutorial. There are many other good things in that compilation, and spending a bit of time on it now will save you a huge amount of time and frustration in the future.

@Selenahudson It would be much better if you started your own Introduction thread instead of introducing yourself in someone else's thread. Then you could tell us more about yourself, and people could reply to you, instead of leaving the original poster of this thread wondering if the replies are for them or you.

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
