I have been following RPG Maker a while now and finally took the leap and purchased MZ.

Relatively new to this, have made games with software or choose your own adventures in the past, this feels a lot more complex so I plan to make a simple game to start with, to see if I can, and see where it goes from there.

I have read and watched a lot of tutorials, and am still finding new ones to follow and try things out.

So here I am. Once I get started I will post my progress.

Hi XXXagent! That's so awesome! Congrats on taking the leap and purchasing MZ. Good luck with your upcoming project--I can't wait to see what you come up with :elwink:

Hi XXXagent. I just bought MV this week myself. I found out about MZ afterwards but not a big issue because I'm using my Switch. I see you made Choose Your Own Adventure games. That's awesome!

I used to read the CYOA D&D and Zork books all the time growing up. I actually picked up a couple adult themed zombie apocalypse CYOA books recently...they are written by the guy who made the young adult series "The Last Kids on Earth". They are fun - pretty gore laden and wild, sometimes cheesy but always enjoyable!

What kind of CYOA games did you work on?

*Ha! Just noticed your profile pic - I haven't seen that wild and insane ride of an anime in years....I don't think we'll be seeing any remasters of it anytime soon! :stickytongue:

Thanks for the welcome.

Apologies for the misunderstanding, I made my own games with other software and wrote my own CYOA (Renpy / Unity). Unfortunately I never got around to finishing any of them, a HD crash wiped them out and it made me lose my motivation for a long time.

Getting RPG Maker has rekindled my creative drive.

I read the Fighting Fantasy series books, my older brother had almost the entire collection (Warlock, Forest of Doom etc) and I picked some others up. I do recall a series with two books, and you chose to be either the hunter or the hunted and could play/read with a friend! It has given me ideas.

As for Amano jaku, a Kickstarter completed not so long back re-imagining the Overfiend graphic novel series with the original author. I tried to pick them up, you can get issue 2-4 easily, but finding issue 1 is proving difficult.

Yeouch! A crash that wiped out all my stuff would certainly kill my motivation so I totally understand that.

The CYOA you read with a friend sounds pretty unique...that's quite cool actually.

Wow, a Kickstarter for Overfiend by the original author huh? That's truly wild. That's certainly something I need to snag.

I used to have 1 + 2 on VHS decades ago...heck they may still even be in a box in the basement. I know Media Blasters released them years ago on DVD but that was super limited...they've sadly been pretty much in distribution limbo apparently...

Made a title screen, and by ''made'' I ofc mean I slapped a simple title on some cool art I bought xD This side project might be fun.
