Hello, RPG Maker community.

I wanted to put off introduction and interactions for a later time, but I suppose there's no harm in getting a start on this early.

My name (for those interested in real names) is Charles David Brabham, but you may refer to me as Squishy!

I've been toying with RPG Maker games for years, all the way back to using "RPG Maker" for the PS1, which is how I initially got hooked to the whole premise.


Ever since then, I'd been downloading/using the demo of RPG maker XP, VX, and VX Ace in order to produce various projects, and a few complete games. Eventually, thanks to my brother in law, I acquired a full registered copy of RPG Maker VX Ace, but that's where I stop telling that story, for now.. The rest shall come later..

The real reason I'm making this introduction, is to make a somewhat annoying query..

I'm aware the most forums have security protocols to prevent new users from posting on existing threads, before going through some sort've registration process, or gaining permission from a mod/admin.. And the thing is, I made this account quite a while ago, and I noticed I wasn't able to post on a certain thread, which I felt should be posted on. (Reporting a bug to one of someone's script threads)

So I'm not exactly up-to-date on what this forum's protocol is for gaining the ability to post on other threads.. Maybe I'm already able to, and the thread in question was locked? Though I didn't see any indication of that.. Either way, I both introduce myself to you, and make this query..

I will be making various queries in the future, pertaining to all sorts of things, some important, some trivial.

Besides RPG Maker in general, I also play Doom II, Team Fortress 2, Euro Truck Simulator 2, and Red Alert 2.  (I guess I'm a fan of sequels..)

My hobbies/fun things to do are..

- Study/Practice Psychology (Live specimens preferred)
- Create mods for Doom 2 and Red Alert 2
- Shoot/Work on Guns (irl, I'm a gunsmith)
- Gain answers to very difficult questions


- Surprise/vaguely impress/annoy people with my voice acting talent
- Work on RPG Maker VX Ace Projects

I'll keep an eye on this thread, hoping someone answers my query.. Anywho, that's all I've got to say for now.

The part of me that wants to cooperate with this forum to help me with some important things is glad that someone
answered..

But the cynical part of me noticing a moderator quote rules pertaining to the fact that I waited quite a fair amount of
time but apparently not "officially" long enough, makes me think "Dear oh dear.. This is going to be one of 'those' forums,
isn't it.. The kind where petty authority and reputation-based hierarchy reign with an iron fist."

Then the part of me who's a light-hearted nose-honking comedian tugs at his collar with a sly chuckle and retorts
"Wa-hey~, what other kind of forum IS there?"

Then the grim-faced black-and-white part of me straightforwardly says "You don't get your license at the DMV by whining about the complications, you stand in line, force a grin, and behave like a good little robot until you've gotten what you want out of that horrid place.. THEN you can act like a normal human being again after you're outta there.."

And then the overly-naive bleeding-heart part of me whines and mewls "But how come forums are like that? They aren't the DMV,
a forum is supposed to be a place where people can express their opinions freely! When did a medium of expressing one's self
freely become a lead-barred cage of regulations and stuck-up elitists?.. I'll tell you when, NEVER! Just you wait, these guys aren't
so bad, I bet this was just a fluke, and we'll never see any hint of cold behaviour from these guys, and you'll look so stupid for
ever doubting them!"

I will say, I do like how the forum ranking starts out putting me as "That guy".. That's cool, because that's often whom I consider myself
as.. "That guy", in the sense that I'm typically the one always saying what's on everyone's mind, when nobody else speaks up.. And
then being the guy who gets carried by the scruff of his shirt and thrown out of the community for mainly the same reason..

But hey, thanks for responding at least, and not answering my query, you, a moderator, probably being the second best candidate
for doing so.. Almost makes the cynical part of me wonder if you even read the first post, or if you just saw the second post's timestamp like a cop with a speed gun looking for the one guy going 3 miles over the speed-limit.. Do you get bonus-points with fellow staff for re-iterating the rules to those who vaguely break them, or were you really that eager to justifiably robo-sass a new user?

.. Well, I'm in too deep with that statement, now comes the part where I wait for 1 of 4 possible responses..

1. An equally light-hearted but stingey post by someone, regardless of rank/staff affiliation.
2. A much heavier-handed slap on the wrist, for "disrespecting staff".
3. An answer to my inquiry.
4. Getting stealth-banned because the cynical part of me has an issue with self-fulfilling prophecies.
