so i suppose i should say hello to everyone... Hello everyone! i look forward to getting to know some of you... years ago i spent some time with RPGM2000... it was pretty cool... i also have XP and MV... i prefer XP cause of the multiple map layers... anyway... i recently got serious and decided i was going to make an rpg (and actually finish it this time)... the vision i have for this game is pretty grand and i hope i am able to achieve what im aiming at... i dont really have any scripting experience so im probably gonna hafta start learning how to do that...

thats probably enough rambling for now... uhhh... have a nice day...

Hello! I'm botypunchymcface.

For your first project I don't suggest you make a game "pretty grand" - you should learn the engine!

Check out this comic.

It's good advice for people who don't know where to start. Remember it is advice and you don't need to follow it 100% but I think it's good starting point.

thank you... this isn't exactly my first project... I've made a few cheesy cookie cutter games in the past... I feel i have a solid grasp of the basics and i am able to handle a lot of the more intermediate tasks as well... it's the more advanced stuff that gives me trouble... so far in preparation for this new game of mine i have evented out a time system including days elapsed in game, a four phase day/night cycle, an npc afection system and a somewhat satisfactory foraging/harvesting event sequence... there are still a few mechanics i want to iron out before i start on the actual game so I'm sure i will have questions for the community soon...

so far i am enjoying these forums... the people here seem pretty awesome!...

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
