Hey all, glad to be joining this community, so much I have seen so far is helpful and positive.

I joined the RMN community about 6 weeks ago after going through TouchFuzzy's amazing tutorial series, but haven't been that active since.  I've found a lot of the advice there and here very helpful for many reasons.  I want to contribute things as quickly as possible but obviously have masses to learn.  I've already downloaded a few games to try by other users, and I'm immediately impressed at how different they all are.

As I'm using VXA Lite, I'm limited as to what I can do at the moment, but have found the limitations to be quite useful in making me think of ways to do the things I want to do without using scripts.  I recently found that you can only make 20 maps in a Lite game (with only 10 events per map), so that will hopefully help me to actually complete something sooner rather than later, by releasing a little demo or chapter or something.

Naturally my first efforts will be pretty basic and poor but I have enjoyed working on them so far.  One is a run-of-the-mill tutorial game based on the tutorial guides, while the other is a Mass Effect fangame.  I don't have artistic skills so all the graphics will be default/placeholder graphics for these at the moment.  I'd like to create and integrate my own music but don't know how to do that yet, hopefully I'll just get through some of the basics first.

Looking forward to chatting with you all and hopefully contributing to the community in some useful ways.

Thanks, I will, in the appropriate subforums of course  :)  .  I saw your recent thread, you are the Soulcalibur fan yes?  I was a Xianghua fan myself.

Here's a question, why does your profile avatar say you have made 2 posts when I think you've made quite a few more?

Welcome!  And may I just say, you have already won me over with that cool username!  The Zelda series is in my opinion, the greatest series in the video game world!  (Though I admit I am behind on the latest additions).

This community is amazing.  I've been a member for a while and just became active this week.  I can't describe just how fun it has been and how much I have learned.  I will tell you this: I consider my time valuable... and the time I have spent in these forums was time well spent.

Welcome again to rpgmakerweb.  Cheers!

Thanks man that's a very welcoming post.  I will try to get involved where possible and not bury my head in my projects too much.  It's a fun time because every time I tackle it I learn so much, though it can become daunting when I don't know what to do next.  Perhaps first I should ask around for some guidance as to how to be focused and not try to do too many things at once, leaving other things half-done.  Also I did DL seven or eight RTP games... I wonder if I should make reviews for them now, or wait until I have more experience so that my input is more valuable.

In any case it's a pleasure to have joined.

Welcome King of Hyrule. How come we never get to see who Zelda's mom is in the games? o_o

You've made 7 or 8 RTP games?  That is awesome!  RTP graphics actually do not bother me, so long as they are used in a way that is visually appealing and in a way that compliments the games themselves.  I am still working on my first project (well, my first completed one).

It is a "legacy project", meaning:  when I was a kid playing FF6, I always thought to myself:  I wish I could take a shot at designing one of these, it would be SO FUN.

Rpg Maker has turned a true dream into a very true reality, offering ALL of the mechanics used in those games.  With that said, my first project is huge, and despite how daunting it is, I am about 25% (or 10 gameplay hours) into it, and WILL NOT STOP until completed lol.

This community has been way helpful for sure!

No no no, I downloaded games made by other members of the community to try out. At RMN they appreciate reviews for uploaded games so I was wondering whether I should do that now or wait til I understand more about the software and the community.

Ah well then I must admit to being a fraud, it is merely a nickname I took... I did peek in on him once, but it was all business, very serious with a red-haired ambitious-looking fellow

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
