Hello all. Obviously, I'm new. I've been looking into making a game and I wanted to get some opinions of IG maker or RPG maker before I spend some money. 

Any opinions?

Thank you! Um, I'm thinking of maybe a farming simulator, kind of like Harvest Moon. I bought VX Ace last week, I've just been too busy to play around with it or read tutorials.

VX Ace is an amazing tool. You can do a lot without even getting into scripting, if you're capable of thinking outside the box and exploring, and if you learn Ruby, you can really make some cool stuff happen. The great thing is it has a very nice learning curve; sit down with a tutorial and you can learn the basics and really fly. I've got a project saved to my computer for the sole purpose of trying new commands and command combinations to see what happens.

If you hover over an option, it gives you a bit more detail, too.

Well worth the money I paid, IMO. And welcome to the forums!

Greetings, and welcome! I never actively used any of the previous RPG Makers, so my opinion is totally biased when I say that VX Ace is quite good. If you don't understand it, there are a metric ton of video tutorials on youtube, and there's plenty of help to be found here. Again, welcome aboard! =D
