Hello, everyone. I'm Safgaftsa, an amateur developer who has been working on and off with RPG Maker VX Ace for about a year now.. My name is hard to type, so it's fine to call me 'Saf.' I find people tend to do that without me telling them to do so, anyway.
I'm working on a Final Fantasy-styled game called 'Civility,' which explores the impacts of slavery and xenophobia on society. The setting is similar to that of Final Fantasy 6, with ~1930's-level technology. Magic is derived from the Elves, who are essentially normal humans whose ancestors, by random chance, absorbed mana that fell from the sky several generations ago. Arridia, the nation in which the story takes place was split by this world's equivalent of the American Civil War, with the West attempting to imprison Elves and use their magic as a power source, and the East fighting to free them. In this universe, the war ended in a treaty that recognized both the East and the West as independent nations.
The story picks up one century after the war, with the East and West experiencing renewed tensions, elements in the East attempting to expand Elven slavery into their own country, and the rise of two rebel factions with opposing views on the future of the Elves and the purpose of magic.
I'll be editing this post for grammar. If you see something, say something.
