Hi, I am pretty new about Generator, and I found tricky problems and questions in my sole opinion.
For example for filename:

FG_AccA_p01_c1_m013

  1. What is the meaning of "c" and "m" there?
  2. How to effectively rename many files—including spriter-made parts—to be organized in orderly manner?
  3. What if we add suffix on filename? Will the part unaccessible and can't be shown in Generator? I usually add them on filename to credit the spriter in brackets, other than Kadokawa.
  4. How many number digit can be inputted on those "p", "c", and "m"?
  5. Are Generator's parts "being copied away" when we make new game like RTP?
I hope someone can brighten and cure my confusion. lol. Thank you.

(5) generator parts are in main rot of the installed MV software.

I know most accesorries, clothing has P01 and P02 if you check that folder,
and they have to name correctly in order to show up.
every new project get copies from the generator folder, same if you want to use,
6 plugins in every project, you can put it in the main folder and those always
show up.

I never got out what the other letters means, even if you look in the folder to those
names, you have a change to figure out.

so far I know, there is no suffix you can place. so you have to copy the name
that is last and continue the number up from there.

the m013 is mostly that goes up. but the one that create generator parts, might
be able to answer all your questions.

Personally, I would do it much easier though on the naming part.

In my experience the numbers don't need to be consecutive. If you have a p013 and a p052 but nothing in between, you should be able to use both as long as there's an icon for it.

I guess the breakdown of the filename format is something like this...

[version]_[category]_p[uid].png

  • version - one of icon, TV, TVD, SV, FG
  • category - where it appears in the generator; one of AccA, AccB, BeastEars, Body, Cloak, Clothing, Ears, Eyebrows, Eyes, Face, FacialMark, FrontHair, Glasses, Mouth, Nose, RearHair1, RearHair2
  • uid - a unique ID for the part. Must be the same in all versions of the part.

Face graphics have some additional parts to the filename:

FG_[category]_p[uid]_c[layer?]_m[???].png

I'm not sure what the c and m are for, but I'm pretty sure one of them has to do with layering and the other has something to do with gradients.

@ShadowDragon I see. So there is no way to put credit though.
My concern is when I use Generator freely and I choose the artist-made one then forget to put credit or even confused what part belong to whom.

@Solar_Flare I noticed that p number no need to be consecutive. But, does any digit difference make parts separate?
I mean for example: are p010 and p0100 considered different part?
I just notice that only FG has those "c" and "m". I think you are right.

Assuming p0100 works, it would be different from p010 because one of those is ten and the other is one hundred. I suspect it only supports 3 digits, but I haven't tested.
