Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and I need some advices. Started using rpg maker vx ace yesterday and I'm planning on making a horror game. So let's go straight to the problem: I want to make something like this: The player enters the room and an event plays. That event includes a short dialogue between two other characters that are in the room. Ok...now AFTER this happens and I want each of the characters to do a movement and say more things. The events need to play in this order. If you guys need a print just say. Thank you!

There are a few concepts that make cutscenes like the one you want easy.

The most important one of them is to get everything from a single cutscene in a single page on one controlling event.

1) make ONE event on autorun, containing everything you described as happening as the commands on the first page, one after another

That would be the commands on page two of event ID 3 (the first three screenshots) and the move route commands of the fourth and fifth screenshot.

The events 1 and 2 will still be there and contain the sprites, but they will have NO command inside them.

The move route commands in event 3 need to be switched from the default "Move this event" to "move event 1" and "move event 2" of course.

2) After all commands are executed, then you put a single control self switch command on the page of the controlling event, and add a single (empty) page to that event, conditioned to the self-switch. This second page MUST NOT be autorun - usually it should remain action button, because this page is to end the cutscene.

I suggest you follow the link in my signature and read the tutorials listed there, because this is basic eventing and you'll need to learn that before you can start on your own game.

True. I was genuinely surprised at how easy it is to do cutscenes.

It takes practice...   ...and some trial and error.  When I do my cut-scenes, I find timing to be my hardest issue.  (Example:  How many frames should I make the character wait before I make them start pacing around, etc).

I definitely recommend trying out different possibilities....  but definitely controlled by a single Autorun event.  Use this event for text, character movement, changes in music, ...  all of it.

Once the cutscene is mastered, the feeling of victory you get is an awesome feeling :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
