HELP A NOOB BUY A PRODUCT!

I currently own RPG Maker VX. Yes VX original. My demo for ACE expired, so I just started trying MV. I like VX MOSTLY BECAUSE I CAN MAKE OWN CUSTOM GRAPHICS, and that I enjoy looking at RUBY SCRIPTS available, for both VX and VX ACE. Is RPG Maker MV worth buying? I do not quite understand the plug in system...

Thanks,

Trevor Ali

Overall, MV is a improved Ace.

The main advantages of MV over Ace are:

- Better native resolution.

- Built-In sideview system.

- Mac support (steam version only, for now)

- Mobile and browser deployment.

There are some other minor differences and advantages but those are the main ones.

Now the question is: are those advantages worth for you? Specially the last two since they are not available in any way on Ace. (the other two can be acheived with scripts). If the answer is 'no' then there is not much difference from MV to Ace for you.

About the plugin system you says to not understand... they are not much different from scripts, the only differences are their placements.

- With scripts you have to copy the script and paste it's code on the Maker script editor (by just placing the script on the editor, it's automatically enabled).

- With plugins, you have to download the script plugin file and place it on a folder in your game, then enable it on the Maker plugin manager.

With MV you can still make your own resources. The grid size is different, but otherwise, not too much different than VX.

The other main difference with the plugins is that it uses Javascript instead of Ruby. And while there aren't quite as many options for plugins as there are for scripts - because MV has not been out that long - the coders in the community have been hard at work and have produced an incredible amount of options in such a short time, as well as continue to do so.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
