Hello again, guys!

I was wondering if there's any scripts or methods to go about disabling 'Game Over' when your character dies, and rather than ending the game, you just respawn at the closest inn, your house, or whatever point you decide to make it.

Is there any way of doing this? I'd rather have my game do that than show 'Game Over' when defeated.

Thank you in advance, guys!

Thank you, Darkanine! I'll look into it right now.

Any other suggestions/links are appreciated, in the meantime.

I can't seem to get this script to do what I'm asking... I must be going about this incorrectly. Is there any sort of way someone could help me with either the script Darkanine provided, or give me another option?

EDIT: I just realized I double-posted; my apologies...

Do you have the Yanfly core installed? The core is here.

Yes, I have it installed. I'm still having issues, though.

To solve the script issues, we would need more info like how you had set the notetag for the actors, and how you made the common event that would then take over the death handling, and what happens when you test everything.

That said, there might be another way to handle this depending on how your game is set up: do you use evented enemies or random encounters?

With random encounters, you'll need either a script to handle death or be a little tricky with troop events and an "resist death"-State forcing the death handling into a troop event.

With evented encounters, you can simply check the option for "continue when loosing" in the battle processing command, and then have the event handling the effects of death instead of the automatic game-over.

Notetag for the actor is as follows:
<death event: 5>

Common Event 5 sends the player back to a certain location, and that's all I have on the event.

And to answer your question on the enemies, it was a random encounter.

Does this clear things up?

Thanks for your help.

Hm... That script stopped the 'Game Over' screen, but it stays stuck in the battle rather than teleporting the player to the spot I set.

Any suggestions?

try end/abort battle from event command (third tab). put that in the top of your common event to teleport the player.

Did you make the common event in the database?

Sorry, guys. I've been inactive for a bit.

I made the event a common event in the database, yes.

I tried aborting battle as well.

I feel I'm missing something crucial, seeing how this isn't working despite following your suggestions.

Then wee need better information on your game to look for the problem, either screenshots of all involded event pages plus a list of links to all scripts you've implemenmted, or a link to a project demo itself.

Nevermind. I figured out what I did wrong.

I forgot about setting the Common Event to parallel process and implementing a switch at the top.

Thank you, guys! Sorry for the troubles.
