Help, havent seen this mechanic scripted....

Hi there everyone!


 Had an idea for a mechanic, to level each parameter individually, since it is an actual event, so I had to edit the battle screens a bit to take out the exp, and use the gold with a diferent name to like "buy" if affordable the cost to unlock the increase paremeter event. So instead of accumulating a certain amount of EXP for the level with prefixed values to be unlocked, you are administrating your character to grow as you wish.


 Besides the obvious benefit of any add-on, there are some other benefits to having this scripted vrs evented.


While many say its sometimes way better just to know how to event most things out, Im still amazed this script is nowhere to be  found, and I mean the feature Im describing is fairly common on present gaming. So maybe you could be the first scripter to take the credit for this one all over the internet, besides than just a mention on the credits of my game....


Maybe I just don't know where to look and you can help me to find what I need or something similar I can edit, now I'm a total scripting newbie, so also please let me know if I dont know what Im talking about and this can totally be evented. Well either way I would have received the breakthrough I need...

those scripts do exist in several variants on the master script list - most probably you searched for the wrong names.


There are several stat distribution scripts based on levels, Yanfly has an JP-script that distributes Job Points for defeated enemies to pay such scripts with, or you could use one of the many event shop scripts (you purchase events with gold, and the events (containing the upgrades or whatever) are executed when paid for) and several other variants.

 Hi Andar, thats what I feared, now do you know if there is some kind of fatal incompatibility between yanfly add-ons on RMXP?

  Yes I was absolutely aware of that fact and I'm sorry for the boldness, but I did so to confirm that I'm having a hard time finding some RGSS script for that desired mechanic, and the RGSS forums sometimes move kinda slower, way slower...


But I have the idea I can still check those Yanfly scripts and go for some sort of "Reverse Engineering"? to adapt and create my own add-on for RGSS Im totally up for that to be honest!


What do you guys think?

No, that won't work - while the language differences between RGSS anmd RGSS3 are minor enough to allow for reverse-engineering, the engine data itself has too many differences to make that workable - reverse engineering between the Ace database and the XP database is so much work that it would probably be easier to write a new script from scratch.

Just found a very large add-on pack for RGSS from a guy named Blizzard, Im sure I can figure most of the scripting with these XP scripts and some of Yanfly's!
