Help make rpg maker vx ace recognize which character id is being used

Hey All, 

I was wondering if there is a way to make it so that when i want to during text, custom character names show up. 

now, hold on a sec, i know what you're thinking. 

I'm making an open world RPG with a selection of different characters and classes. not a big deal. but since im using different multiple actors at the start of the game to determine the players sprite and headshot, im stuck because the actor id is dependant on the players choice in class. 

also, another problem that i seem to have come across is letting the game know what headshot to produce when the actor is speaking. 

this isnt a problem when you have a specific story and specific actor/actors but in this type of game RMVXAce seems to be limited. on certian aspects. is there a solution?

Just for reference, here is part of the common event string i created to make this character customisation.

The basic escape/command sequences of the show text command are listed when you hover the mouse above the text field for a few seconds, for example \N[2] will be replaced by the name of the seconf actor, \V[20] will be replaced by the number stored in the 20th variable.


You can mix \N[\V[1]] to get the name of the actor whose ID is stored in the first variable.


If you want more commands than the dozen available in default, you need to install one of the advanced messaging scripts - there are several available on the master script list, which differ in the commands they offer and their compatibility with other scripts.


In the case of selecting a face, in default you need conditional branches with different show text commands. There are a few scripts out there that change the face (or even replace it with bust pictures), but I don't know what their options are - you'll have to check the master script list for yourself.

Why not use just a single actor and change the sprite and class depending on the player's selections? Much easier. Having multiple actors, and only choosing one, will cause you more issues than this, as you get further into your game.

How can i Make it change the sprite and face shot? i cant find a way to do it..

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
