Hi all,
I am at my wit's end.
I am trying to create a move that instantly KOs, whether the target is an actor, or an enemy. That being said, I want to create an accessory that grants immunity to instant KO. This works, but in battles, my actor wearing the accessory does not die, be it to attacks granting instant KO, or by HP damage.
It's incredibly frustrating. I wasn't able to work out a way to make it work, so:
I tried doing it through elements instead. For example, I made the attack that I want to instant KO its target, inflict 9999 "KO damage" (I created a custom element, KO, for this). To counter this move, I tried creating an accessory that would grant the wearer 100% resistance to "KO" element, and thus they would take zero damage from "KO element" attacks.
However, even wearing the accessory, the character is still vulnerable to the 9999 "KO element" attack.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a better or more proper way to go about making attacks that inflict instant death upon both actors and enemies, as well as creating accessories and states that are immune to ID, while still allowing the enemy to die naturally to attacks beyond its HP? Thank you very much for your help.
