help needed

hi guys

i'm trying to make a game without know anything about rgss but i want to learn, for now, i really need a script in this way:

if you walk into a certain tile, a menu have to be showed

i want to use the map for battling and if you walk in a city (rappresented on the map by few tiles, 4 for exemple) a menu with buttons will appear and you can see city information and the button for the market menu for buy and sell, and other thing like tavern etc.

if there is something like posted, please, link it to me and i'll try to modify for my idea

if you know caravaneer saga, i need something like that

2) You're wrong, you don't need to know scripting or RGSS for something like that - that is pure eventing (event on player touch and below character priority will do exactly what you described).

So I suggest you work through the basic tutorials and learn how to use the program as it is before you try to use scripts.

The starting point tutorial in my signature assumes that you're using Ace for a lot of parts, but it is general enough that it would still help you, just search for the equivalent XP-Tutorials to the linked Ace variants.

one more question: can i create a menu for every city? i want to give something of "rts" when player goes into a city, a very large maps. i want that the player when walk inside a city can improve structure of the city for make it producing better resources. i guess so if i can create a market system where the resources product in a certain city costs less in the market of that city and more in other city for give a sense for travel for long distances, for example in a zone where a resources is not product.

you create that menu by show choices, and make different event commands depending on the choice.

If the town has more than four "functions/buildings", then you can either group them (first choice all shops, then select which shop - second choice town info, then select who to talk with, etc) or search for a script that allows more than four options in show choices.

And since every town can have a different event, you can create as much events as fit on your map.

thanx a lot my friend! I personally thought that for complex citymenu was needed complex scripting knowledge.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
