HELP PLEASE! Tried updating NW.js and several profile error / playtest-related troubleshooting methods and the editor still don't allow me to playtest

Basically i have tried KillerGin's method of updating NW.js for MV / MZ...

At first it runs fine, however...

When I playtest my game today, it simply does not work...

And in the task manager, it throws out numerous background instances of NW.js that needs to have their processes killed manually...

Tried several troubleshooting methods, including the one by baz, one by TuomoL (on Steam), and several methods I googled online...


But still not work.

Can anybody help me with this?

Well, I had some of these problems, when SRD's SuperTool plugin wasn't closed properly, so I've learned to close it before the closing the game itself. My guess it's that you might have installed this plugin and when you edit data through this plugin it's not closing properly (perhaps some issues with recent nwjs updates, not sure). Try reverse the update process and tell me do you have SRD SuperToolsEngine plugin installed and if you do, try to update nwjs again and disable it.

One thing I can provide you is a short script for windows batch that will instantly kill all nwjs and game processes initiated with your project.

taskkill /f /im nw.exe
taskkill /f /im game.exe
pause
Save it as *.bat (any name) and 2x click to kill processes.

It is highly advised that you DON'T use the latest update of NWjs because it has problems with MV's canvas game context - your game may work fine in the background, but the image will freeze permanently. It often occurs with lightning plugins and until today I'm struggling to fix it.

My old project has SRD Super Tools Engine (SRD STE) in it, but the same issue also happens with a fresh new project...

Plugin anatomy of my old project (sorry I deleted my old project in frustration after the project didn't work, so here is what I constructed from memory):
Misc Plugins (including one that can change the map destination image and / or Galv's plugins)
QPlugins
SRD Plugins (alt menus, STE, plus some extras)
Yanfly Engine Plugins

My PC's specs (before this issue the game runs (and tests!) smoothly):
