Hello resource masters !

I've been thinking about asking for help for a while, and I decided to finally do it. I'd like help on the following point : drawing facesets. But I won't ask you to draw many facesets, one should be enough.

I've been trying to draw facesets by myself, but I'm somehow disappointed, and can't manage to do things properly. So here is my request : the picture below is one of my last attempts, as they currently appear in my game :

I'd like to have someone redraw this face for me, in a better way, with proper coloring (paint or pixel art, as you prefer). The size of the picture should be 100x100 pixels. Having one my own characters drawn in a proper style will help me to draw the other ones by mimicking that style.

If you prefer to not base yourself on a picture, I'll write here a description of the character that you can use (it might also be better to draw one from your mind)

- 3/4 view

- Man, 25-30 years old

- Green eyes

- Neutral face while speaking

- Rectangular glasses with grey frame (can surround or not the whole glass, it is up to you)

- Brown hair almost reaching the shoulder

- Parting strand of hair in front, towards the side

- Parting hair towards the side in the back

Thank you in advance for your help :)

Am I reading this right? You want someone else to draw your main character and then you'll match their artstyle to draw the rest of the cast? Because, and maybe it's just me, but I find it a bit misguided to think that you can mimic anyone on this forum's art style (or any art style at all really) instantly just by looking at one piece of art by them. Also a tiiiiny bit rude towards all the other artists here who have spent years developing their stlye into what it is. Not to say you mean any harm by it, that was just the jerk reaction I got upon reading it. (not to mention, the idea of a 'proper' art style is very subjective)

If I may make a suggestion, rather than asking everyone here to draw you something that may or may not fit your window of 'proper,' find a bunch of artists and art styles you do admire. Draw your character using those art styles. Mimic them as closely as you can. Come back a day later, and not using references of the actual artist, but using your own drawings from the day before - do it again. Pick a different character this time. Maybe a different character for each style! Now come back again another day, and without using any references, try to draw each style again - this is going to force your brain to remember what thing about each style it was that stood out the most for you.

Compare your third day drawings with the original. What aspect of the style stands out the most? What aspects do you like best? Internalize those. Day four, try drawing your character using a combination of the things you liked best from each style and the things that you found were easiest for you to draw.

This will take time, but I honestly think it's more fruitful than just trying to copy someone outright.

It is exactly what I'm trying to do. But the best way for me to manage to learn from people is to have one of my characters drawn in better styles than mine. It'll give me a better idea on how to do it from what they gave to me. I will of course redraw the same characters myself using the better drawn as basis, that is what I call mimicking.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
