Hello! I'm pretty new to RMMV and I'm trying to make my own custom tileset.

Basically what I've done is create wood borders that are transparent so that the wood can not only overlap but also be put on top of other tiles. What I've been finding is that when I try to overlap 3x it changes the bottom tile to a brick of some sort?

(My tiles are placed down as such because I'm trying to make a corner: wall colour tile, horizontal wood piece, vertical wood piece.) The wall colour tile is the one that changes as soon as I place the vertical wood piece.

Does RM MV only allow you to place tiles 2x deep? I could just make the corner piece a seperate tile but I would like to know why its doing this if possible. Thank you!

MV has three layers - one bottom layers where the A tiles are placed, and two upper layers where the B-E tiles are placed.
You can not place more tiles than that by regular mapping, and there should be no need for more on most maps.

If you tell us what exactly you want to do, we can tell you which alternatives to use in your case.
It sounds a bit as if you should make your wood into an autotile instead of a regular tile...

Ah! Ok that makes sense. I have everything in one tileset - hence why it won't overlap.

Thank you very much for your help!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
