Hi!

I'm using State Tooltip Display plugin by olivia.
I am wondering a little while using the plugin.
I have succeeded in displaying a description using <Help Description> like this.

And...

According to the photo above, there seems to be a description of buffs and debuffs.
However, it seems that there is no explanation on how to use this content.
EX) When using STATE, which increases the attack power and magic attack power by 20%.
Which way should I use or what script should use, that format appear in?

The buff/debuff description is only for param effects added by skills/items, since you cannot add <Help Description> notetag to them.

For states, you have to manually write the effects, i.e.
<Help Description>
Increases ATK and MAT by 20%.
</Help Description>

Hmm..
If so, why are those plugin parameters?
If I write a buff/debuff in <Help Description>, is it automatically replaced with that format?

No, the format in the plugin parameters only affect these types of buffs/debuffs:

These are only added by skills and items, by default. State buffs/debuffs are different, so the format will not affect state descriptions in any way.

Ah ha...
Can't show the state but can show param buff/debuff !

Then I have to write <Help Description> for a detailed explanation of the state.
ex) ATK + 50%

Thank you to answer.

Can i one more question?

I have set all the parameters here to true.
However, when I hover the mouse cursor over the state in the actor's window at the bottom of the battle, no explanation appears.
If the enemy has the same condition, the explanation will appear properly.

I am using YEP_BattleStatusWindow but it says it is compatible.

I'm not sure, since I don't use that plugin. Can you check:

1) Is Olivia's plugin below Yanfly's?
2) Are you using GALV_MessageBackground? Put that below Olivia's.
3) Turn off all plugins except for Yanfly's core plugins and Olivia's. Does it work?

1. yes Olivia's plugin is at the bottom of the plugin list.
2. I'm not using that Plugin.
3. As you said, I've only used the Core engine and Olivia's tooltip plugin, but it's still the same.
Only the enemy's state is displayed with the window, and the actor's state is not displayed when the mouse is over it.

I remembered I made an edit to the plugin to fix an issue with an update function. If you're using the most recent version then you may be having the same issue.

Please open the js file and find this function:

JavaScript:
Window_StateIconTooltip.prototype.updateVisibility = function() {
    visible = !!this.visible;
    this.visible = this._visibilityTimer > 0;
    this._visibilityTimer--;
    if (visible !== this.visible && !!this.visible) {
        this.updateNewData();
    }
};
Change "&& !!this.visible" to "&& !this.visible" (so delete one !). If this doesn't fix it for you then I'm afraid I can't help any further.

You mean like this right?

do not change " visible = !!this.visible; " to " visible = !this.visible; " this?

only " if (visible !== this.visible && !this.visible) { " this?

Correct, only change the second one.

Okay someone really needs to fix that broken railing, its a health hazard...

I'm starting to wonder if I should go the Half Minute Hero route with my game. The character's main weapon is logistically way too strong. So I can't really let the player continuously grow it.... But if they had to build it up each time like HMH, that could work. Also it lets me take advantage of my randomly generated maps so much more. Hmm... This could work! :LZSexcite:
std::vector, std::map and std::string. Three reasons why I'd take C++ over C. :D
