RPG Maker Forums

Hi everyone!  :rock-right:

So I'm currently working on a game that is similar to a two-person Sokoban puzzle with colorized buttons that when held down by a heavy weight (i.e. a player) toggle open barriers of a corresponding color.

I am currently looking for assistance in eventing a system where:

  • Ability to swap control between the player and an eventI already am able to use a Conditional Branch with "if button X is being pressed, then swap players", but I'm having a lot of trouble not only swapping the control between the two characters, but having the camera follow them as well if they wander far off the map. NOTE: I'm looking to just control the other event (not the player), not have to swap the player's position like in this video that I tried to use as reference.
That was a mouthful, but I hope I explained it well enough (after previewing the post, I'm ready to answer some questions, haha!) If not, please post below, and I'd be happy to assist in any way possible.

I've spent a solid 8 hours or so of RMMV game time on Steam trying to figure this out, and I'm stumped. Not as fluid with events as I was a couple years ago. But, that's why there's people who can help!

Thanks!  :D

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
